yes, it is not too difficult, but takes hours, hours, and almost as much money as buying one with a manual. It's all because of the uni body and electrics expense and time. Go for it. You'll need to align it and pass emissions, and learn accurate welds on this steel? Not wide enough or deep enough for any thing better than original. My friend put a Chevy 350 in a Chevette. The Chevette was hard enough to get to with a 4 cylinder. Aluminum block. What a car.

dont listen to them, its not that hard or expensive, ive never done it, but my brother is in the middle of doing it. the highest cost is the tranny. then all u need is the cables and assembly for it and run those inside and hook them up, this is best done when the engine and tranny are out.... i heard the 95 is the best one to do it on, lightest and fastest and certainly most fun.. we had a 95 sport, i would recommend finding a sport tranny, someone on www.neons.org would know where to get one or sell you one.

check out www.neons.org
there are many people who have done it on there and would love to help you out. there should be some detailed pages on how to do it and what everything should cost.. good luck and dont get into too much trouble, hehe

....
also dont worry about having to use a different computer, the one you have will work fine... im not sure on what sensors you change or what, they might be mostly the same, just check on neons.org

Since the car is a 95, it would cost more than the car is worth. The transmission might not be too terribly expensive, but you would have to have a clutch, a clutch master and slave cylinder, a clutch pedal, and the hydraulic lines installed. That would be a lot of labor.

I don't think you can do it properly without modifying lots of components in the engine, chassis, better buy a manual neon in www.autotrader.com or www.cars.com. Good luck.
