specifics like actual apartment complexes, streets names would be helpful. I'll be relocating there in two weeks for work and want to live within walking distance of work. also any personal opinions of living and working in Pasadena would be helpful. Thanks!

There are lots of apartments in the Colorado Blvd vicinity that are new and fairly convenient to Old Town. Since you didn't specify your price range, it's hard to give you specifics. I don't know where you are moving from, but be prepared to pay in the neighborhood of $1500 a month for a 1BR apartment in the area.

My favorite place in the West end of Pasadena are the apartments at the Paseo Colorado. They are part of the shopping center and look down on the courtyards of the center. There is great shopping and dining there, as well as a market and health club.

You may also want to consider Orange Grove Blvd south of Colorado. This is an older, tree lined area that is quiet and nice.

Good luck!

It's got to be close to the main street which is Pasadena Blvd, that's where the mall is, the main library is close by, great restaurants are along the Blvd, the Norton Simon museum is nearby, good theaters and supermarkets are in the area. The Otis Arts Institute is close at hand.

I was in your situation and everyday i went there to see what the area was like, the blvd makes for a great strolling area. Do like I did and visit it often to see just where you want to rent.

If you can afford it I would say live at the Paseo on Colorado Blvd. Beautiful area and you will never be bored and it is in the area you are looking at.
