Well... I have been single for a while and my cousins always want to fix me up with friends of theirs. They all treat me like I am this sad person... like you HAVE to have a boyfriend. So tired of that.

Basically it depends on your age too. Single people are not placed in the "sad" category. Some people just feel tt they are not ready for another type of life or worried get hurt in a relationship. I don't know which type u belong but basically single people can be happy too. Having a bf/gf may not make u happier too and it may cause more unhappiness. So just be yourself and if u don't like what your cousins do, just tell them politely.

Because its not the social norm to just be single. Society has totally ingrained it in ppl to always be in a couple. Its the normal thing to do. And if you are single you should be pitied because you have not found anyone to make you normal as well. I get tired of it too trust me. But as far as I see it, guys are not ready to understand me the way I try to understand them. So I tell em all to screw it and get some therapy and then lose my number.

I have the same issues. I haven't been in a "serious" relationship for about 3 years now, I've been focusing on my education and career... but now everyone is trying to set me up! Isn't it possible in today's society to be yourself without having to have another person "complete you"? I love my life and I don't need a man to be happy. Us single girls have to stick together ;)

I guess they are not categorizing you into the 'sad' cate. but just trying to help out..

Its not a must to have a BF, but maybe they think that you are of the right age, and its bout time you have someone by your side, someone who might possibly build up a family with you, complete your life..

I'm not sure bout your situation, but i trust that its for the best for you.
