James 2:19 Do you still think it's enough just to believe that there is one God? Well, even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. Fool! When will you ever learn that faith that does not result in god deeds is useless?

So many people on here talk about believing in a god, they mock any notion of that belief or say that they have found their own way to God. Some even claim to be true believers and yet their lives dont even begin to reflect that claim. The enemies of God tremble in fear before Him because they recognize His sovereignty, His Holiness and His absolute authority over all that lives, who are you to deny His very existence? what do you know?.
There is a terrible destruction waiting for those demons, what's going to happen to all who don't even give Him the respect He deserves, irregardless if they follow Him or not?

I think to a point your right, good deeds IN LOVE should be done but you cant work your way into heaven either, Faith and works go hand in hand. "Faith without works is dead" but in the time of Christ, He recognized the falsities in the high priests, and brought it into the light, and was crucified. Christ also said "Dont let your right hand know what your left is doing" Reflection is valuable but there are some who make a good impression within the body by works but are they really doing it out of Love or a pat on the back? I heard it said that "a person can go to church every sunday but that makes them as good as a christian as, sitting in a garage makes you a Car. Bring it to light Brother some may feel convicted, right on with the verse, BTW in case there are some that didnt know, James was the 1/2 brother of Jesus, they had the same Mother.
Peace and Peaceful Journeys.

I don't know who this "question " is aimed at and I don't know how the asker knows that "Some even claim to betrue believers and yet their lives dont even begin to reflect that claim."

I agree however that "faith that does not result in god deeds is useless".

We must learn what Jesus is teaching, ALL of it, not just what seems "acceptable" and easy and maybe "logical".
We must follow his teachings ("in His footsteps") and apply them in our lives.

What does Jesus teach again and again and again? We must WANT to act out of compassion: 1. to love God above all things and 2. to love (be kind to) ALL our fellow human beings, even those who don't agree with us or those we don't agree with.

Jesus says those two are the "first and foremost commandments" and are the basis of THE LAW. Any other laws or interpretations of laws that don't align with those two basic laws are invalid.

Just immagine! If all humans would willingly (not because they have been told) act out of compassion toward the "others" there truly would be peace on Earth! Unfortunately we are not perfect and to bear "our cross" often seems too hard (or illogical, or "unscietific). - No, I'm not perfect either!

That's why we have to learn to be honest to ourself and admit that we have failed, again and again and again, and resolve to (at least try to) do better next time!

Because WE are not perfect we also have to forgive others for offences they may have committed against us.

We can then ask for forgiveness and get "peace of mind" - until the next time.

As someone put it: " Love (I don't mean SEX!) is the answer - whatever the question".

Try it. Then look at the results and judge.

I am a believer. It seems like my concept of God is not quite the same as yours. Fear of the Lord is very different than fear of a wild animal or a storm or any other worldly terror. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. It acknowledges the power and majesty of God but accepts his unconditional love to calm our unreasonable fears.

Muslims say they believe in God, but according o the bible they are on their way to hell.... because they don't believe Jesus was the Son of God or that he died to pay the price for their sins.

So believing in God is nothing if it is not the right one:
Jesus said:
"I am THE Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me".

Another thumper who has to use the idea of fear .When will you people learn that this only drives people away. You want to push your fear of something on everyone else.

As far as I am concerned God doesn't give two hoots as to who you are or whether you believe in God or not.
