my friend was sent to jail in Sept 2005 for violation of probation. he then moved to diagnostics and then to prison in Jan 2006. he was sentenced to 3 years (the remainder of his probation) but his tentative parole date says n/a. what does this mean? he says he may do 1/3 of the time or all 3 years of his remaining probation. can someone advise me on what to expect because this is all so new and complicated to me. Thank you.

N/A means Not Applicable, to find out what it means in relation to your friend's situation, go ask in the appropriate state forum at http://www.prisontalk.com

It means Not Applicable, and in this case means that, having blown parole, he will have to serve the rest of his sentence.

on immigration forms, n/a means not applicable. probably means that a tentative date does not apply in his case. who told him he might do 1/3 of the time?

Not applicable - does not apply.

What it is saying in relation to your question is that he does not have a tenetive parole date. He is in for the three years.

It means "not applicable". In this situation it may mean that he is not eligible for parole. He will have to do all three years of his sentence.

i thought it meant not availiable, but everyone else is saying something different.....hmmm....maybe the two mean the same thing!

lets just put it this way, from previous experiences in a court room, it seems like a judge is in a good mood is he was to get laid the night before ( just a figure of speech) and in a shity mood if he got no ***, so your buddy better hope the judge got a good lay the previous night so hell get let off the hook a little easier!

not available? not applicable? not anytime?

I'd get me some new friends, by the way.
