and die before you can go to God for forgiveness, will you go to heaven still? God knows everything, and would he consider that he knows you would have confessed before your death? What happens then?

Actually, all Christians are saved, as defined by Jesus to Nichodemus (spelling), we are saved through water and the spirit (the sacrament of Baptism).

All of us are in the state of sin ... but our spirits, when moving toward God, move toward perfection. It is this action that will get us into Heaven ... not going around saying "I am saved!" It is a constant struggle to goodness, because our hearts are prone to evil. The fact that our hearts are prone to evil was revealed by God (The Father) after the flood. These were His words. We must overcome what our bodies want, and allow our spirits / souls to reach toward God, and lead our bodies toward perfection. I'm not sure if this is the only way to Heaven, but it certainly will work. Why take the chance? No point in playing around with salvation, strive toward perfection, and give God less to condemn you for. OK, bad sentance structrure there ... strive toward perfection, so that God will cast a more favorable judgment upon you. The closer you are to perfection, the more favorable His judgment.

Jesus died once and for all for our sins.
He died 2000 years ago for mankind including us in the future.
U can rest your heart and know well, there is nothing u can do for u not to go to Heaven :)

Once saved, forever saved.

Hebrew 10:8-11
8 Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them ” (which are offered according to the law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.”[b] He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”[c] 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”[d] 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Well, I believe that God has mercy and grace. If you have already confessed that you are a sinner and you believe in God then you will go to heaven. I believe he does know your heart and The only difference between those that are Christians and those that are not is that Christians know they are going to heaven- we sin everyday the point is that we keep asking forgiveness and pray to be better. God knows everything about us the whole point is to continue to strive to be better and to sin less. If you love God he knows- I have to believe you will go to heaven.

If you were saved and then sinned...were you really saved? Wouldn't part of the repentance process be to show that one has overcome the sin he/she has committed? God is a merciful God. However, mercy cannot rob justice. There is no deathbed repentance. If one has sinned, they must recognize they have sinned, feel remorse, confess the sin to the person they have injured or sinned against. There must be a form of restitution and a forsaking of the sin. If one commits the sin again, did they really repent of the sin?
Matthew says our words will condemn us, James says we must be doers of the word and not hearers only, and finally John says in Revelation that we will be judged according to our works.
How can one be saved, if one continues to sin in an unrepentant manner? If one is saved, then God forgives sins the person has committed...and then he would wash away all the future sins the person chose to commit after he/she was saved? Doesn't make sense.

It works like this, if you are continually overcoming then you can feel secure but if you are not then you have to ask God to help you to overcome sin, but you have to be willing. My pastor put it like this, if a Christian who was living his life toward the light he had then he should give into temption once and he dies, when Christ comes back, he still goes to Heaven. When a sinful man who lives doing things wrong and does one good deed and dies, no he still doesnt go to Heaven when Jesus returns. You know, not true what they say once saved always saved. people change their minds every minute. To: yarger72 God is all forgiving I can tell you from experience. But if I keep doing what I'm doing then I really don't want to change, therefore I don't require forgiveness. But if you wanted it you have complete access.

I believe, that once saved, always saved. Jesus died for all sins, past, present, and future. I believe that God is merciful, and knows that you have a repentent heart.

However, this is just my belief. I have faith that if I were to die this second, I would go to heaven, even though I haven't confessed my sins recently. Why? I believe God is a merciful God.

I hate to tell you this but even devout Christians sin each day each hr, that is why we have repentance.
Some believe that after you are saved and do create sin either by accident or on purpose you wont make it to heaven.
Hahah well i have to tell ya if that is the case none of us can make it. We repent each time we pray.
Asking for forgivness cause we sure aint perfect.
Heavenly Father will deal with us when we meet him.
Dont worry just Choose the Right.

What do I do when I make mistakes and sin? Do I have to get saved all over? Do I have to get born again, again? How do I get rid of bad habits and repetitive sins?

ANSWER: A great scripture to memorize now is 1 John 1:9 that says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This verse promises instantaneous forgiveness from the Father when the believer messes up. The blood of the cross not only PARDONS you from sin, but gives you POWER OVER sin. You and I don't have to sin anymore. It is no longer the nature of our heart. But because we still live in human bodies not yet glorified and in heaven, we sometimes may lose some battles with temptation to sin. But there is Good News! Now that we are born again, our consciences will let us know when we have done or said something wrong. Our own hearts will let us know when we have displeased God. Certain Bible verses may be brought back to our memory that remind us that we have missed the mark and fallen short of God's glory. When this happens, we have the promise of 1 John 1:9 that if WE CONFESS AWAY OUR SINS TO JESUS, admitting that we have goofed up, HE CAN DEPENDED UPON TO INSTANTLY FORGIVE US AND CLEANSE US FROM OUR GUILTY FEELINGS AND EVIL TENDENCY. One doesn't have to get saved all over again. Getting born again, again, is not required. When the child of God sins against God, he or she breaks FELLOWSHIP with the Father, not RELATIONSHIP. For example, when a child disobeys its parents, it is STILL THEIR CHILD. The relationship of parent to child is still the same. However, the child's disobedience has displeased the parent and the CLOSENESS and FELLOWSHIP between the parent and child is now strained. The same is true of a marriage. Just because a husband and wife have a disagreement does not mean they are no longer married; rather it means that they need to apologize and ask one another's forgiveness so that they can enjoy one anohter's company again. So when you make a mistake, don't go around feeling guilty for hours, days, or weeks! Don't run away from your Father when you sin, run TO HIM. Your sins and mistakes are no longer the devil's business. Don't live under a cloud of condemnation. BE QUICK TO REPENT. BE QUICK TO ASK GOD'S FORGIVENESS! The moment you recognize you have blown in it in some area, INSTANTLY ask God's forgiveness. He promises to instantly forgive you and make you feel clean again. Also when someone offends you and you feel unforgiveness and bitterness rising up inside you towards that person, QUICKLY go to God in prayer and pronounce ALOUD to God that you choose to forgive that person. Ephesians 4:32 - "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Once Saved Always Saved is an unBiblical myth. There are sins that are Mortal to the Soul and if we die without confessing these sins we will go to Hell.

I believe (but not all Christian sects believe) that you are saved by the grace of God and the sins that have been paid by death of Jesus. That is not a blank check to go out and sin, essentially snubbing God. It acknowledges that we are human and we sin without control sometimes. I regret the sins I have done, but I believe that God has already accepted me as I am.
