Think about it, the definition of what a virgin is nowadays has probably evolved since the Bible was first written since the Bible has gone through so many translations so that the common man can undersand it. There's at least the NIV, NKJV, and many others...

You have a very valid point on the translations... on one apologetics site, I read that the translation of "murder" (as in the commandment to not murder) can include negative thoughts about another person. So truly, how do we know that the word that was translated as "virgin" is what they meant? They could mean that she hadn't yet given birth.
i refused to believe that pre-marital sex came about only since the industrial revolution. Like no one ever had sex before marriage in biblical times.

She was a virgin when gave birth to baby Jesus,
after that Mary have many sons and daughters.
Mark 6:2-3
2 And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!
3 Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.

The concept of Virgin does not evolve over time. It means the same thing now that it always has. Most versions of the Bible are translated directly from the earliest source materials, this means that there is not a chain of translations.

Because back then if any was pg without being wedlock she would be labled as so. Also she was a young lady. And the Bible is all we really have to go by and that is enought for me to believe the Bible is of truth.
Stick with the KJV and no other

What we know about Mary's virginity comes from the Bible.
If you don't want a Biblical answer, then you have lost the common ground needed to have a discussion, or to give an answer.

lol don't be so stupid. I mean how could we possibly have any proof of her virginity? I mean the normal test is impossible because star trek wasnt invented yet so we can't just look to see if she owned memrobilia to know that she must be virgin =P but anyway who gives a damn? Jesus was still born and said the things he said that are prolly some of the greatest guides to moral living ever uttered so how he was concived is just an issue for pettie peopl who just want know because they nothing about sex them selves.

Because a young unmarried woman in that culture who wasn't a virgin wouldn't have lived very long...and her baby, holy or not, would have died with her.

What "Prove" is there? The word is "Proof" and No there is no proof. All religions are based on blind faith! Every culture has it's deities, religious concepts, doctrines, dogmas and tenets.

I don't think that there is any proof that Mary was a virgin. I honestly think that Mary was lying. I haven't yet seen a female have a baby and is still a virgin.
