Yep. There are many which will do what you ask. The most popular by far is Adaware. You can find information about it and instructions on how to download it at http://www.lavasoft.com.

There is another program called Spybot Search & Destroy which can be found at http://www.safer-networking.org/.

Microsoft has its own adware/spyware removal utility called Windows Defender. If you have Windows you might want to give it a try. You can find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&displaylang=en

Ok, you must have browsed a site. . .which planted spyware on your PC.
DOnt worry it is fixable. . .i was there a few months ago. First of all download a copy of "Hijack this" http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.h...

& also get ur hands on Spybot Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/...

then, reboot in safe mode. Run S&D, delete the Unwanted Registery keys,
then run Hijack this. & see if there is any BHO's that u dont approve. delete those. this should help restore it back to normal.

P.S Windows Defender sux, AG Grissoft Free version is full of Adware, . .it didnt catch the things Spybot S&D caught.

Both ad-aware and spybot search and destroy are good.

I also keep a "junkmail" email address that I use when I have to register for things. That way less junk gets into my inbox. Then once a month or so I log on to the junk mail email address and delete what I don't want/need.

Well, registering can be done completely anonymously, well, except for you IP address. Everyone should lie on those things, except maybe when you are ordering something or doing your online banking...anyway....

Lavasoft has Ad-aware...it is good...also SpyBot. here are the sites.

yes, its called adaware, search for it on downloads.com or google it. completly free program (you can pay for premium features) but free is good. I use it at least once per week or once every other week.
