Be advised, you may have to be a few years older to do what is listed below. I doubt you are old enough yet. Keep this for future use though.
Step one: Go to driver's education or a similar driving education program.
Step two: Go to the department of motor vehicles and take the written exam. Pass the test, and you will be able to get your restrictive license.
Step three: After you've had your restrictive license for a while and have practiced driving, return to the department of motor vehicles and take your driving test. If you pass, you will get your non-restrictive license.
As for if your dad's insurance, it may go up some. This is because there is a certain age group that is prone to getting into more accidents. I think it is ages 16 through 21. But if you maintain a good driving record, the rates will go down over time.
I know mine has. I haven't gotten into any accidents or speeding tickets, so my insurance went down 500 dollars this past year.
{I use Progressive auto insurance.}
Best of luck!

First off have you taken the test to get your permit??? Im not for sure about Florida but, in Alabama you need that to drive in driver's ed. Its a written test. If you have that cool. You should take driver's ed it will help you learn to drive and you will feel comfortable behind the wheel. However, get your parents to let you drive with them as well. Its hard learning to drive esp. with your parents. My mom was sooo paranoid. lol It was fun though. Don't be nervous and just practice. Practice makes perfect. Well almost... we do have some crazy drivers lol...
As for the insurance.. well theres no easy way to say this but, when you start driving your dad will have to put u on his insurance. So your covered incase of anything happening. It may go up alot or just a little. Talk to your parents though if your serious about driving b/c they are the ones who need to teach ya.
Good luck!!! Oh heres a link to the FL. DMV.

Go to your local DMV to learn the requirements. Take a drivers education class to learn and to lower your insurance. also get good grades in school to keep you insurance down and do not get in any accidents. Pay your dad the difference in his insurance rate for adding you as a driver when you can legally drive.

You follow the regulations on your region, which i'm no longer able to provide you because of the fact you have asked on a international huge website and not making use of a clue as to the place you're. In some places you're able to desire to hold the enable longer, or take added instructions. point out region and consistent with danger somebody might provide you a pragmatic answer.

A 15 year-old on your dad's insurance will make it go sky-high, no two ways about it. Especially in the madhouse that is Florida. I have driven down there. You people have absolutely no respect for traffic laws whatsoever. Everybody is in a massive hurry to get somewhere and they are determined to do so before the car in front of them. Leaving Florida is a great feeling for drivers who abide by traffic laws...
