It seems to me that Christians walk around with a cloud of ignorance hanging over there heads. Meandering lemmings falling off the cliff of repentance. They twist scriptures to fit their beliefs. They claim that Jesus died for the sins of humanity when he never said his death would lead to the salvation of anyone. He said worship God only and serve him alone but Christians have made Jesus God thereby breaking the commandment of Moses and thus they are misleading mankind into paganism. Read the bible for yourself! The teachings of Jesus lead to life but the religion of Christianity is pure paganism.

I have always know this, that is why I have never trusted Christianity. It is hard to trust something that promises punishment if you do not believe.

I don't know whether it's acceptable or not; it's rampant, that's for sure. I think part of the trouble, though, is that since the earliest copies we have of the gospels are third- and fourth-hand and from a century or two later, there is disagreement over what Jesus actually said (different gospels disagree amongst each other, as would any comparison of testimonies), what he meant by what he said, and how we should interpret what he meant by what he said. This, as I understand it, causes such consternation among early Christians that they requested the church in Rome (not yet the center of orthodox Christianity, because no orthodoxy yet existed), being one of the better developed and "staffed" and having perhaps more scribes, etc., since it was near the literate world of the empire, essentially pick winners in each of several fights.

These fights, of course, were between groups who leaned more toward the teachings of Paul, or Mark, or whoever. Some of the losers in those fights became the earliest heretics, among them the Ebionites and the Marcionites.

Bart Erhman, a thorough and meticulous secular biblical scholar, does a fantastic job in laying this all out in "Misquoting Jesus" and "Lost Christianities". Another good book is "The Construction of Orthodoxy And Heresy", by Daniel Dennett.

Who is right? We'll never know, or maybe no one is right. The Church has long since stopped seeking truth anew and mostly now just seeks to maintain the status quo. It is rare indeed to find anyone who approaches the source material with an open mind, sorts the wheat from the chaff, and does not dismiss the whole on account of scribal mistranslations, misreading of Greek / Aramaic, and other human technical errors.

"Is spiritual ignorance acceptable?

"They claim that Jesus died for the sins of humanity when he never said his death would lead to the salvation of anyone."

Matthew 20:28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

"Read the bible for yourself!"

Matthew 7:3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You HYPOCRITE, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

"Christians have made Jesus God thereby breaking the commandment of Moses and thus they are misleading mankind into paganism. "

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God....And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Matthew 28:9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.

Matthew 14:31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Luke 24:51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

I have read the Bible and studied it.Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower then the Angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honer; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. And of course read on it talks about Jesus coming in the flesh.

Forgive my not knowing scriptures by heart, but I do know that there is a Father, a Son and a Holy Ghost. They are really 1. They are acting as 1, and their teachings are 1. God sent his only son, part of himself, to earth to do 2 things....to teach his word, and to die for our sins! He came to tell what would happen to us if we did not follow his Father's word.
I do agree with you in your statement that some "twist scriptures to fit their beliefs." If we truely followed HIs word, we would only have one regilion. I am a Believer. I claim no organized regilion. I was baptisted as a Baptist, but I now do not follow that regilion fully. Because each regilion has rights and wrongs. All of them!
Catholics says that if aren't catholic you are going to hell. Baptist says Catholics are going to hell, because they call their Priests Father. etc. etc. When I worship I worship and praise all 3. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. But there is only one way to go to heaven.....no matter what regilion you are, no matter how good you are, ....to accept Jesus Christ as your savior and know that he died for your sins, and that by his dying we are cleansed.

I have read the Bible, and I have been told that I am wrong on things I believe in, I have been told that I don't know what I am talking about....but that's ok, because one day when I am in heaven, I will ask all questions, and then I will know the correct answers if I am wrong. But I have the main belief right, and that's the one that counts. Do you?

It says no one goes to the Father but through me! So, to honor and worship is to be honoring God, himself, because he's part of Him....

God said Jesus's death would lead to salvation-if you accept him. God said that! Again, I am sorry I don't scripture and verse but he said it almost from the beginning of time...especially after the flood, when people started again to sin! How many chances should God give us? Two more, it's in His book, but I have my reservation all ready!

God bless us all..................

At the Baptism of Jesus, God spoke from heaven:

Lu 9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Read an authorized version of the Bible.

First I'm not xtian...and I totally agree with you. A few days ago I asked how many people here had read the bible cover to cover....one agnostic fellow said he had. I believe that most xtians are willfully ignorant, preferring to be spoon fed by their pastors. I have no problem with people educating themselves and looking at all options and deciding to be xtian. At least they have looked. I have no problem at all with authentic xtians that do not twist the bible to suit them and who walk their talk. Those are few and far between though. And again I agree that xtianity is paganism with less individual freedom and a sugar coating to make it palatable.

sounds to me like you are trying to validate your continuance of doing wrong and not being accountable for your wrongs. you have been given right and wrong and the will of god is still gonna be in there for you no matter what nothing is by accident., even when you think that you are being disobedient you will still be in his will regardless. just as Jonah and the whale and Saul's transformation to Paul. believe it or not. ignorance is no excuse for lashing out on what you refuse to understand. yeah always read the bible for your self get your own understanding. that what you go through is your preparation for your calling. you keep coming up with excuses to run and you will get caught . caught up alone asking God to please help. the Deity of God is the father the son and the holy spirit. ask him for understanding. just cause you dint believe it doesn't make it not true. remember that

I agree to an extent, I think everyone should read up on ALL religions and see what the similarities are, along with the differences. It would help with all the ignorance running around. No more fear of other's beliefs. Wow, what a concept.
