Yes. One of my professors once said, "an unexamined belief is not worth holding." I am a Christian also, but have questioned many of my beliefs and always come back to faith. Craig Hazen says, "Christianity is not about blind faith—it never has been. You can go into it with eyes wide open." It's great that you read your Bible. You also should check out books by Lee Strobel and C.S. Lewis (both were atheists who came to faith in Christ). Talk to God about the doubts you have. He knows we struggle, and will help you find the answers you need.

I would say that most people, even strong Christians have had doubts at one time or another. The thing is - not to stay there. If you think about it, there can't not be a God. Did I say that right? I mean that God cannot "not exist." Go look in the mirror. Think about all the systems that run your body, that keep you breathing, your heart pumping... you are a miracle. Look outside, the earth, and all its systems like the clouds, and rain, and the "re"-cycling if you will, of the water. How the earth spins in space with out going nuts on us, and running into the sun, or freezing us to death... Look at a tiny flower petal, a butterfly, and all the exquisite design that went into the whole thing. Think of the science of it, the architecture, the art, look at the health side, and how we are provided with healthy food to eat. Think about water. Ok, anyway, all these things were created by one super smart "person." Well, in my opinion, no matter what anyone believes -- He deserves to be called God. and since He was nice enough to let us know -- His name is Jehovah. It will be easy to to side tracked in the last days. The Bible says that even the "very elect" will be led astray. Don't be one of them. Everytime that I start to question, I look at the trees, no one with common sense, who can reason for themselves, would think that all this design is by accident.
P.S. Being a strong Christian, only means that satan will harass you more, and try to talk you out of it. But you know who you are, don't listen to a liar.

It is very typical for Christians to have doubts and God puts them there for a certain reason. In James is states, "For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow." I have had the same problems as you and I love the Lord also. I have grown in endurance alot from having these problems so don't worry. When you get over it this time it will be a little longer till it happens again but when it does you will grow even closer to God. Stick in there and the next time you will grow stronger.

God is the BEST!!!!!

Chess player, spiritual growth is like climbing a ladder,as you reach a rung,or concept of truth you should imbibe it fully into you being then climb to the next rung and do the same thing, letting the rungs you have imbibed become the stepping stones toward the heart, Jesus said closet yourself and pray, worship God in spirit & truth.when you enter the heart you will find GOD there waiting. Have you read Romans 1-19 & 20? and ephensions 2-22 and 4-6 ? I got still and asked GOD what is LOVE I went through my mind into the heart and experienced UNCONDITIONAL LOVE once I returned to ordinary awareness I could not discribe it. the mind can not comprehend the allness of God you must enter the heart to experience him. "..for those who hunger shall eat... those that thirst shall drink of the water of life freely." Those who truly seek God in their heart will definitely find Him. He will always readily make His presence known to anyone who truly seeks Him.

"If you believe with your heart you will have it" 2 Cor.
"If thou had the faith of a grain of a mustard seed thou couldst sayest to that mountain, "Be thou cast down into the sea."
Faith is what it's about. Gotta have faith. Ever notice how people so often look at something in life and immediately think negative things like.. "I know that guy is rip me off" or maybe .."Their gonna railroad me for sure.." They never realized that because they actually believed it, it happened. "Be thou not deceived. God is not mocked. What you sow you shall also reap" Then there's the adorable Apostle Paul saying "Take every thought into captivity." Oh yeah.. on that line, "If you think it, you have already done it." Yep.. gotta watch which direction that faith goes in, too. He's there and no, can't have any doubts. Gotta work at it all the time. See? Only angels live in heaven, and that's where I plan on retiring!

of course its alright to have doubts.
You have to realize the bible is over 2000 yrs old, written by man, in Aramaic, translated and re written millions of times. So what you are reading today may or maynot be the exact original wording. You are getting the writers perspective and its getting translated. So what could have been actual proof in the bible that he existed, may have been deleted along the way. YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE FAITH. If you love the lord, he'll love you back!

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt ?

If peter can have doubts well I guess maybe you can to.

yes even priests have had doubts at one time or another in their lives, part of the issue is changing your perspective ,like people decide to be inhuman, not god, life happens whether you live next to a toxic dump or drank bezene contaminated water or have bad genes some ugly consequences happen like diseases and birth defects and ,that i9s because man lives with no interference, men choose to follow and believe, no god from any religion is a personal god with your or anyones elses same perception of right and wrong and good or bad so ,expecting a god to make something happen or let someone fail or take care of ,or let you make money, when materialism has nothing to do with love or humanity which is what gods usually represent, unrealistic expectations and failure to be more proactive in your life or not seeing things as someones fault or having to scapegoat sins, can lead to feelings of hopelssness and hopelessness and cause one to become cynical or disillusioned because life is not fair and some people seem to have it easy and all the money but are heathens in your eyes, what you may not know is that they have everything and nothing ,no friends or anyone they can trust or are a chronically miserable person in private or whatever, people do not air their weaknesses or insecurities like daytime tv shows do ,and focusing on negativity or problems is a dead end ,just like looking at what others have, be glad for what you got, visit a hospital ward as a volunteer and see how lucky you are to be you and have what you have cause you cant have it all, and everyone cant be on top,I cannot tell you what to believe in as my beliefs differ from yours however what is right for me is wrong for you and vice versa and I cannot say my way is better or right in that sense, for my self my way is the best, but I am me and you are you. good luck

Pray and ask God to help your un-belief. Even the Apostles had doubt. And don't just read your Bible meditate on it, ask God questions when you read His Word, seek Him. You say you are a stong Christian then i believe you know when you are coming under attack ( spiritual warfare). Put on your full armor..God Bless..

well, having faith is believing in what we can't see- I know there was one instance in my life where I questioned God and if he were really there right with me- I remember it was at a church service where a special pastor was visiting and he was very young maybe 19 or 20, well anyway I spoke to the lord inside my head and heart and told him I wanted to truly be in his presence and I wanted to know he was right there with me so I asked him if he were there if he would tell me what I was asking him. I believe it was just a few seconds and that pastor came up to me and told me everything in details- I was astonished I had never experienced anything like this in my life before, and I never truley expected for it to happen to me- a nobody. You see God is actually all around us in the people we meet in our children and in nature. I guess I didn't really realize this until later but I am so grateful that God chose to speak to me. I remember my friends having experiences that I so desired- Just keep praying that God will make him self real to you. I know he loves you and it is natural to doubt. Just keep reading your bible and God will truly reveal him self.
