My favorite drink, both for it's taste and catchy name, is a Salty Dog. For this cocktail, salt the rim of a glass (as you would for a margarita), then mix one shot of gin with 6-8 ounces of grapefruit juice (I've found that the less sweet white grapefruit juices work better than ruby red) and ice. The tangyness of the grapefruit juice and salt complement the gin perfectly.

Dry ginger ale is a good mixer or lemon lime and bitters. You can mix Gin with many of the same things that you would mix Vodka with - its all a matter of personal taste.
