I have put out grandules, sprayed with a product from So. Ag. and spayed with a stronger product recommened by the local farm store. They have not made a dent in the flea population. The products say once every two weeks but I have used the products about everyother day and after it rains. I have sprayed over the neighbors fences as far as I can also. I have read about a product called talstar but don't know where to get it. I'm getting ready to call an exterminator but how do I know that will even work?

Just put the best flea protection you can on the animal I've never heard of eradicating an entire property. i think the exterminator will know that, but still scam you.

well... after a 10 second google maybe I'm wrong, looks like it takes 2 coats of spray over a couple of weeks, read the link

This is something I would let the professionals handle. Remember that fleas will jump on people and if the people travel into the house then they can infest their home too. Make sure if she has any animals that they are treated with a flea preventive, if they are infested give them a flea dip from a groomer and then the flea preventive. If strays roam through her yard that could be the problem. Even wild animals can carry fleas. Fleas are horrible and are very hard to get rid of. Maybe she should fence her yard in to keep strays out. If the neighbors have animals that aren't treated this too can be the problem. Tell her to talk to her neighbors about flea preventive for their animals too. good Luck. Vacuum everyday.

I use sevin dust to kill and get rid of ticks and fleas from our dog. They just die and go away. You can make a giant salt shaker like with an empty plastic jar and drill little holes in the lid. Then put the dust in it and just sprinkle it around the yard. Be sure and use one of those magic markers that cannot be removed and label the container cause this stuff is pretty potent and you would not anyone trying to guess what is in it. Use one of those scripto writers. Also, you can call a hardware store and ask them about sevin dust and any other stuff they may have.

Sounds like a heavy flea infestion and probably your best bet is to tackle it with an exterminator. Stress to the exterminator that you want something done about the fleas and you want a money back guarantee of their work in writing. A reputable exterminator should have no problem guaranteeing their work and usually they have some pretty good stuff to get rid of fleas.

Get you a few bags of SEVIN powder and spread it through your yard... Or a bad of lyme...Just be sure to use a mask over your nose and mouth..... Flea's are BAD this year...and the season is about to pass, but if you do not take care of it now, it will be the same next year and chances are you can carry them into the home and then you are in real trouble..... But i have had alot of success with these two products Also help with flies and keeps snakes out of your yard too....Best Of Luck

Call a pest control company. They can spray your yard for fleas monthly. This is what I did when I lived in Florida, and I never had a problem with fleas.

Good luck!

I would recomend Sevin...Its a dust that works great for flea control and is safe for pets and children.
Sevin is a broad spectrum insecticide that controls many different species of both sucking and chewing insect and mite pests on a wide range of ornamental plants. It can also be used as an outside perimeter spray for nuisance pests such as wasps, ants, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, and pillbugs. For adult mosquito control. As a turf spray for caterpillars, fleas and others. And for many pests on fruits and vegetables

I had that in Florida and we used Seven Dust. (not sure of spelling) We used it in our yard & the neighbors on either side. 1 bag is all we needed. The sand fleas there are a nightmare to get rid of!
