Going to prison usually means that a crime was committed or a law was broken. I would personally freak out at first, but you have to take into consideration a few things: first, how long were you dating before you found out...has he been keeping this secret for a week, a month, a year...if you have been together for a few weeks he may have been waiting to see if the relationship was going anywhere before he said anything, but if it's been like a year....why the secret? Second, when did he go to prison...was it back in the day stealing candy as a kid? Are his records sealed, or was it in his adult life and he's hiding something? Third you have to ask yourself if this is a person you can see yourself with...can you deal with the fact that he went to prison, or is it going to haunt you? If it was me, I'd freak out and not be able to handle it...but other ladies, they might be okay with it!

If I have learned to love him, I wouldn't mind his going to prison but I would ask him the details about it.
I do believe that ex-convicts should be given chances to show the world that they can change for the better. Many ex-cons are just forced to be bad again because the society they are in don't give them that chance.
The man in your question was a very loving, caring and very pleasant man which every woman would like to have relationship with. And if I were that woman, my finding that he had been in prison would move my heart towards helping him rise again with confidence and faith that he could be better and good this time with my love and support. My love for him would not change a bit. In stead, I would show him that there were eople out there who would trust and love him despite his past.

the man i once loved (and maybe still do) is in prison. i stayed with him for 5 years and 2 and 1 half of that he was in jail. after all i went through with him no i would not take him back but i have met a few since we split that have been in either jail or prison that i would have given a chance if i weren't already attached ( to a man that is a jailbird, lol). i guess i have a thing for the 'bad boys''. but it was mentioned in a previous answer that it would depend on their crime and that would have a lot to do with whether i would date them or not.

It all depends on what he did to get into prison. But anything less than a killing spree I'd still consider staying in the relationship, what happend in the passed, stays in the past you cant take it back, or fix it. As long as he was loving and cared for me, it wouldnt matter, although I'd probably be freaked at fisrt I'd let him explain and get to understand and get over it.

It would depend on why he was in prison for one thing. The other thing would have to be how i found out. If he told me himself would be better then finding out from someone else.

I would be a bit shocked but I wouldn't hold a grudge against him for what he did in the past he's obviously changed his ways if he isn't in prison anymore and is treating you right.
