I know this is sort of off topic, but keep in mind one thing.
My best friend had her heart set on a halter dress with a lace and pearl overlay. She eventually found one, and then she tried it on, and it looked TERRIBLE.
She tried on two more, and then she found one that was the total opposite of what she was going for, and it was "the dress". You could tell immediately.
My point is, don't get your heart set on a style without putting it on, you don't know how it will look until you put it on.

Most stores will have traditional gowns that look the same. Some things you can do to find a more unique gown would be to look at a fabric store and have a seamstress or trusted friend make your dress. You can also look at the Salvation Army and other thrift stores. I have found some amazing dresses there. You can also buy a cheap, traditional dress and make it special. My cousin got a $30 white, linen dress from Target and then got a lace scarf to tie around her waist with some glittery broaches. It was so her and perfectly unique. I have seen lots of white dresses that would be cool if you have some basic sewing skills and aren't afraid of ruining the dress. My sister took out the toule of her prom dress and then added a contrasting trim along the bottom and as cap sleeves. This traditional ball gown became one of a kind in 2 hours. Finally look at homecoming and prom dresses. Ivory and white is a popular color and they tend to be much less expensive or traditional than wedding dresses. Deb, Sears, and JC Penney's tend to have the best choices.

Look for gowns in discontinued styles at the major bridal stores. They are usually still really pretty and you know no one is gonna have a gown like yours because of it.

I found mine at a department store in the prom dress section. It was exactly what I wanted, fit off the rack and was only $200! Alternatively, you could find a tailor or seamstress and have one custom made, but it'll break your wallet.

If you're willing to pay for them, here are some designer sites. I've met Kirstie Kelly before and she's one of the designers who will also custom-design a dress for you if you like. Congrats and good luck!

not sure of a site, but what i did was take parts of different dresses and show the pictures to a seamstress, then she incorporated all of those things into a unique one of a kind dress for me. it was way less than buying something off the rack (i only paid $800), and it was something i absolutely loved, not something i was just kind of okay with.

Design your own dress how you want it and have it custom made by a local seamstress. That way you get exactly what you want that doesn't mirror everyone else's.
