They focus on other stuff a lot too.

Because they are trying to keep people like you out of hell. They should be preaching that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and telling you that if you would believe and trust in that then you could miss hell. Luke 16: 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments,

Our church doesn't. We focus more on living the way Jesus instructed. We focus on love and community. You should keep searching for the church that fits you. Apparently you've run into some that didn't work for you.

The church focuses on it to scare people into doing what they want. It's a way to control the sheep. Mass hysteria is a wonderful tool.
