Yes, it is rude to call someone stupid just because you know something that they don't. Don't forget, this site is meant for more than just entertainment, it is a way for us to all learn from each other. Next time, you might have a question that this "stupid" person just might know the answer to, so then you'll be the "stupid" one... Yeah, kind of stupid, right?

Anyways, the only exeption are the ones that really are asking stupid questions, such as the one I just read saying "Can you not do that again?" Nothing else, that was the whole question, no explanation or anything. And yes, if your reading this and this was your question, then you are STUPID!!! I think if someone asks a question like that, then they are asking for it

yes, it is rude, and has nothing to do with reality.

Rude - because by asking an easy question, they gave someone a chance to look smart. Why they should be paid with an insult for this.

It is innacurate, because not knowing something is not the reflection of one's mental abilities. Stupid is the one who is not using their mental abilities properly, for example, keeps asking the same question over and over again without trying to understand the answers.

I was insulted here, too, by being called stupid for asking a science question. What can we do. Some people are rude. BTW, I looked at her profile - she looked rather uneducated to me. No smart questions, no smart answers. Just passing gass at other people.

It depends on the simplicity of the question, but usually the crassness of people show through by the replies they give.

There are questions that need never asked because common sense and logic should prevail. The differences in experience and maturity has a play in this problem and often is overlooked by some responders.

While it is rude to call people stupid because they have a Question that they do not have a answer for .there are those that deliberately ask stupid questions to jerk people around . try not to answer those types of questions after reading them.

Yes, it's rude. Them being ignorant about the subject or maybe having a lower IQ does not give you the right to be rude or insult them.

It is rude. Not everyone has the same skills or experience, and some "easy" questions are hard to others!
