yorkshire pudding isn't really a "pudding" per say.... it is actually a simple batter that is poured over meat (usually beef) drippings and baked in a hot oven. It will rise quite a bit and is very delicious cut up and served with gravy or meat drippings

My kids love this..I was engaged to a Brit for awhile, and he made great Yorkshire pudding! Make it with a roast, and in the roast juices. It's basically pancake batter...dropped in a muffin pan or as drops into the juices. It is good. Really good on a fall or winter Sunday! Check out a recipe online for it.

It is a savoury batter that is baked in a VERY hot oven in a fairly small round tin with HOT oil in the bottom.
It lovely with a roast dinner.
The emphasis is on the hot because if its not it will be flat and soggy, instead of rising and having a golden brown colour with a hint of crisp to the outside.
Dont use too much oil. It doesnt take long to cook and can burn easily so be vigilant.
Experiment.....

It is like a roll, but creamier. If done right, they are excellent. Made with flour, eggs, and milk, it is actually easy to make, and often served with roast. Use some of the roast drippings in the pan that you make it in, and it really makes them excellent.

It's like a gigantic popover. It's british and it's delicious. It's good with leg of lamb with mint jelly and roasted potatos. It's the bread part of the meal, good with butter. Yum!

It rocks with roast beef! It's just flour, milk, eggs and salt cooked in the beef drippings. To die for! Check out www.recipezaar.com

I thought it was a pudding - but it is more of a light and airy muffin.
They are good!
