I doubt anyone that high cares as long as you are not conspiring against the government and they are tracking you. People get on CNN late night and have political shows that bash Bush worse than anyone does here, and they do it with taste and facts. So, it those people aren't under surveilance, and their show is still on the air every week, what makes you think they care if Lateekwa and her baby daddy are talking about scamming on their foodstamps next month over the internet of whatever. There is no data to do anything with. Don't become a terrorist and stockpile any ordinance in your garage, don't order 5,000 banana clips from Ranger Joes on-line, and don't get on E-bay trying to sell a nuclear weapon detonator for $100, and you have nothing at all to worry about. They haven't declared martial law.
Yet. Bwaha ha ha haa!

Yes, internet chatrooms are monitired because the right to privacy is not an issue in a public forum. They look for individuals who covertly or overtly plot and conspire to assinate government officials, overthrow the government, commit terrorist acts, etc. The data is held in data files and saved for future reference for linking persons with crime networks, etc. Also, if the president should visit a particular area in the country, the information relating to local individuals is used by the FBI to prevent potential problems or investigative purposes if the was a problem. Big brother is watching and listening.

there are strategies to stay away from the cyber web promoting and marketing organizations. no longer a lot NSA. the aspect is, i don't believe them at the same time as they're saying they're basically searching at x. They lie. it truly is element of the job. you do not comprehend what you're speaking about in case you imagine they have ANY limitations on what they're accumulating about you and absolutely everyone else.

They used to call the program "Total Information Awareness" and then it ran into publicity and it was "shut down". They just renamed it and re-funded it, though. Part of it is tracking every phone call from every number to every other number. Part of it is tracking email. We don't know all of it, we just know they are trying to get every electronic record possible - credit cards, checking accounts, medical records, legal records, employment and tax records, electric bills, you name it, and put it in a giant database so they can look for patterns and relationships.
All this while claiming they don't need warrants or court review!
Ted Rall has a good take on it - see the link.

Yes, all internet traffic is sent though a master computer ( or so they say) it is set to try and catch key phases and words and only those will be reviewed.
So if you type in certain words your usage, your web pages and all interent traffic would be monitored

They scan everything that moves on the Internet and are looking for key words and if one of the key words are found they scan the transmission for other key words. .When so many key words are found in the same transmission someone gets busted.
It is the same for your phone calls.
Wait.. the USA a free country or so I thought.. I guess it is no diff then any place else. Oh no it is just like Iran or any other dictatorship.

I think they moniter everything and put it through every kind of data mining to do every kind of profiling on everyone using electronic communications as well as every record that a person creates in there life to play god, to be all seeing, to know everything everywhere that's happening and has happened to take advantage of that knowledge in every way possible, creepy stuff.
