With adults, I mean. And if 17 is their peak, what about their younger teenage years? Why is society so afraid of something natural?

The main goal in nature (evolution) is to reproduce. This is best accomplished when you're young...before you die. Does modern society go against the grain on this? It's not nice to fool mother nature!

People, be REAL for once in your life. Teens have sex, and lots of it. Why does society want to pretend they don't? Hypocrites?

As Ronald Reagan once said of the Democrats, but I think it applies equally well to the government in general, "They are afraid that somewhere, somehow, someone out there might be having fun."

States don't make it illegal to have sex before the age of 17. The only thing that's illegal is when an adult has sex with a minor. If it was illegal to have sex before the age of 17, teen mothers would be in jail!

The law is designed to keep you from using your
super-teen-stamina to take controll of the wives of senators.
There are age limits for holding public office.
If your &!$% makes her feel better than her fat 50 yo husband,
Then you can infuence her, and all political figures are controlled by their wives.

If these laws were not in place, and kid could drop their pants
and take controll of one of the most powerfull nations on the planet.
with soooo many teens rebelling against authority, there would be
a fight for dominance. so many would die that there would be
less 18-25 year olds to go off to war and fight for oil.
and of the ones who did make it... less would grow up to become
the fat politicians... and the country would crumble.

Because at 17, teenagers are not at their most mature. They would be so thrilled at what they could do and lose control of it. That's why they increase the legal age to have sex - to prevent foolish things like unwanted pregnancies to happen.

Responsibilities go along with that intimacy. If you have to ask that question, you're not ready to have sex. Enjoy the fantasies.
