The closest to you seems to be the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, not sure about sitting in a jet, but there seems to be quite a few exhibits there.
Good luck

Try the Hiller Aviation Museum. It's in San Carlos next to the San Carlos airport. I don't remember it having any fighter jets that you could sit in but there are some you can look at. There is, however, the cockpit of some type of plane (sorry, I can't remember what) that you can sit in upstairs. I believe you can also still hear the SQL tower communications too, which I always thought was neat.

Yes dear if you are in London then go to Calendale Air Museum in Zone 4 where you will have the experience of sitting in a Jet war plane for 20 minutes and they charged you about $ 10

Try the USS Hornet, which was the WWII aircraft carrier recovered the Apollo 11 astronauts, and is now open to the public in Alameda. It still has some of the fighter planes on the main deck. It is now docked at the Alameda Navel Sation, at 707 Hornet Ave, and is open 10 to 5 everyday. Call (510)-521-8448 for more information

Well, if you don't mind a bit of travel, there's one at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, TX. Better still - watch your local newspaper - there are a couple groups of veterans who actually fly some of the retired aircraft and bring them to communities and air shows around the country. You might get to tour a B-24, a World War Two bomber (you can even purchase a ride in one of 'em, but it costs currently four hundred dollars). You can get up close and personal with a variety of prop and jet fighters at some of the bigger air shows. Those air shows are always well-advertised, and California is a favorite stop for them - y'all and my Uncle Archie in Anaheim always gots such fine flying weather compared to us out here on the Right Coast...

I believe the USS Intrepid air craft carrier museum in NYC will allow you to look at them. But it's going to be in dry dock for the next year or so for repairs.
