He's probably being friendly. Be happy that some one thinks that well of you.

However, it is your decision whether or not you want to respond. Don't be his hostage. Make your self invisible if you want. Or if you don't want to do that then just don't respond to him. Say you are busy with a client or that you have to get the phone or what ever.

not really , i mean if u dont feel like IM the brother in law, just turn invisible that way you dont deal with any awkwardness
