You can take it.
Gameboys and iPods are fine for flights to China. There are some extra restrictions on things like laptop computers, but only if you are going to/through England.
Check out the below link for a list of prohibited items.

eventually nothing...they should at least provide full meals again on flights. I think electronics are ok but check with the airline to makesure because if not your son will never want to go on another 12-15 hour plane ride again.

Yeah... you can take some things like that. He just can't bring a bag or anything on those international flights. If he wants to carry it in something, he'll have to put it in a clear zip-lock bag. Hope this helps you! :) Enjoy your flight.

Best way to find out for sure is contact the local office of airline you're flying - they'll know what current regulations are at both ends.
Or try your travel agent, if they don't know, they should find out for you.

Yes. You can take your gameboy and iPod, just no drinks of any kind or any other liquids or gels such as toothpaste, sodas, sunblock creams, etc... but you can certainly take electronics.

Check with the airline but I really doubt it would be permitted.
