It's a theory, but it's the best one we have.

BTW there is more than one "Theory of Evolution". They all have their good points and differ only in the details. Go here for a an excellent description of the different flavors.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution

Fortunately, the Catholic Church and other enlightened religious organizations have sanctioned the belief that evolution is a sound theory of how life on this planet arose and became what it is now - and what it will be in the future, because evolution never stops.

It's only the extreme right-wing, intolerant dogmatists who will appoint themselves saints and damn you to an eternity of agony if you believe in evolution.

Don't be discouraged. Your personal relationship with God is more important than the one they want to force you to have. They are not divine beings and do not have the authority to determine your fate. It's simply none of their business.

Is evolution in the form of natural selection real. Yes. The most fit elements of a species will survive to procreate. Did we descend from monkeys. Maybe. Were we created by a supernatural god?
Possibly. Or maybe some aliens broke down in space a long time ago and stopped of on earth to fix the ship and while they were here a pet like our dogs got loose and started humping some of the local fauna thus begetting humans. Equally probable. No one really knows.

Not all of what people call evolution is true. It depends on what part of evolution you're referring to. If you mean Darwinism, no. Darwin himself said on his deathbed that he made it all up and regretted it. Darwinism is also called MACRO-evolution - a change from one species to another. There is no evidence that this happened and there are too many missing links to prove it. Mind you, some people have claimed to have found the missing link between humans and apes, but they have all proved to be fake.
Now, MICRO-evolution is true - a variation within species (i.e. the different breeds of dogs).

yep, scientifically and religiously.

People automatically assume that the only point of evolution is "man came from monkey". That has very little to do with evolution. It started off as an example of change and before you know it fruitcakes who couldnt' read the entire theory started freakin' out.
Everything evolves and changes.
You have examples within your own body.
Such as your tail bone and appendix. We as humans no longer need these but, we did at one time.
We as humans evolve just as god intended us to. So those who are complaining its ONLY intelligent design are completely closed minded and refuse to believe maybe evolution was part of Intelligent Design.

Is which true?

Do you love Evolution?
or
Is evolution true?

come on which one?

Evolution is true because if it is not then there would really have to be a god and he really did grab a wad of dirt and spit in it and said let there be man and the riped his rib out and made a woman from it. humm talking about inbreading.

All though it is a scientific theory evolution is the only sound explanation of how all life as we know it started, so what really if any is truth by what we are told or taught.

Yes, so far as science knows, it is and will continue to be true unless evidence turns up to disprove it (which isn't likely, but that's how science works).

And personally, I've never found it incompatible with religion. Which is just about the only thing I have in common with the Pope.

I'm Catholic and even I have to say that all signs point to the fact that evolution did occur. Humanity could not possibly exist that way that we do today without it.
