[I am assuming you're a novice cook due to the question].
Brown a pound of ground beef in a skillet, drain and add a package of taco seasoning your purchase from the grocery store.
Buy some pre-made hard shells if you like those, or you can buy tortillas for shoft shelled tacos.
Chop onion, lettuce, tomato, olives or whatever else you like.
Buy some shredded cheese and sour cream. Also, pick up some hot sauce or taco sauce.
Now you have everything you need to make tacos at home the easy way.

At the grocery store Old El Paso brand sells a Taco Kit. So does Ortega. The kit has shells (soft or hard) and salsa and a seasoning packet of spices.
You need to get a pound of ground beef or turkey, brown it--cook it, in a frying pan. add a little water and the seasoning mix, let it cook on low for a while so you know for sure the meat is done.
Whatever toppings you like: Cheddar cheese shreds, finely chopped lettuce, olives, hot sauce.... have that all ready to go by the time the meat is done.
If you are using hard shells you should put them in the oven for a few minutes to make them crunchier.
Then take a shell, add a little meat, all all your toppings and YUMMMMMMY eat your tacos.
Super easy. Or, if you are in a hurry I know that one of the companies sells plastic tubs of already cooked, already seasoned meat. It's in the "convenience" foods cooler.

Tacos are great because you can pretty much put whatever you want in them. Start with your tortilla shell (flour or corn) and add whatever meat you like. You can choose ground beef, but chicken, steak, pork, or even shrimp is good too! Add tomatoes, your favorite salsa, good cheese, beans, lettuce,. whatever! There is no right way. I personally love to put corn in my tacos. You could use frozen and mix it with your salsa. There is also a great black bean and corn salsa out there as well.

Tacos - The basics on how to make TACOS
Mexican Food > Mexican Recipes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mexican Recipe Ingredients:
2 cups Shredded beef or other filling
12 Corn tortillas
1/2 cup Corn or canola oil (optional - soft tacos aren't fried)
2 cups Chihuahua or Jack cheese, grated
1 Tomato, diced
1 bunch Green onions, chopped
1/2 head Lettuce or cabbage, shredded
1 cup Salsa fresca and/or salsa verde
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mexican Recipe Instructions:
Fried tacos:In small frying pan, heat oil until a drop of water sizzles immediately when added to it. Fry tortilla lightly on one side. Turn and fry lightly on the other side. Before tortilla becomes crisp, bend it in half, using tongs and a fork to hold it steady and crisp the folded end. Remove from oil and drain on paper towel. Repeat with all 12 tortillas.Heat filling until steaming. Place one to two tablespoons filling mixture inside taco shell. Add shredded lettuce, onions, tomatoes and top with cheese. Repeat for all tacos. Serve immediately. Street tacos (soft tacos):The difference here is that soft tacos are not fried. Heat tortillas in the oven or microwave until hot and pliable. Fold and fill in the same way as fried tacos. If your tacos seem inclined to fall apart, try using two tortillas for double the strength. Serve immediately. NOTE: Soft tacos are served street side in Baja. I include corn tortillas, along with flour tortillas at all fiestas where people build their own tacos and burritos. Quesa-tacos (a Mexican street taco extravaganza):One of my all-time favorite tacos are carne asada quesa-tacos. The only difference between soft street tacos and these are that after you fill the corn tortilla with meat, you add some grated Jack cheese and flip it back onto the grill (or frying pan) until the cheese is melted. Then add the rest of the goodies. They are beyond delicious!

Ingredients- corn or flour tortillas depending on what you like. Meat this could be ground beef, shredded beef, chicken, or seafood. Lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, a little cilantro if you like, sour cream and or guacamole if you so desire.
I like my corn tortillas fried but my kids like the flour just heated. Fry the meat with taco seasoning drain. Then just start with the tortilla, meat, vegies and top with sour cream and or guacamole.
