I know, I asked the same thing. "Where's the sacrifice?"
People are stupid.

You're correct on the fact that whatever we go through in this life is but a fraction of a second compared to eternity. And you seem to understand the pain involved in being beaten and having nails driven through your hands and feet, so we'll let that go.
But I'm not quite sure just how much you think Jesus should have sacrificed for our sins. Apparently you feel that his life wasn't enough? I don't suppose that a man can give much more than his own life.

Yeah, that's pretty easy to say isn't it? Have you studied the crucifixion? He not only died a physical death, he took on THE SINS OF THE WORLD.
The physical pain was only a part of what he went thru. He took on so much sin that His Father, God, had to turn away from Him for the first time in eternity. There was alot more involved, this is why he sweated blood as He asked the Father if there was some other way.

Many people that have existed in modern day have gone threw more then Jesus apparently did. Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, etc. Maybe he was the first. I don't really know. Just go to an oncology wing, and you'll see hundreds of examples. I don't really think Jesus was fictional, but I don't think he was the son of god by any means.

Man wouldn't it really suck to go through the torture of that to find out that there really is no reward, no afterlife. To find out just as you die that you gave up everything in this world for nothing fancier than an eternal dirt nap.
If god really wanted to solve the is he/heaven real or not question he could do so easily and with finality. Lack of any rational evidence of an
afterlife such as the one religion proffers goes a long way towards showing that it does not exist. If god is real let him PROVE IT, not just sit back and laugh at all the little hairless monkeys arguing about it.

It would be a very big deal if you took all of the sins of manknd, past, prestent, and fruture, into your body at the same time. That is pain beyond any mortal understanding. You can not do that so you are spared the experiment... It was done once for all by Jesus The Christ

Look another Christain Basher! Go Figure!
What does Lamchop say?
"This is the song that never ends, it goes on and on my freinds!"
By the way, Christianity is not a cult thank you. Even if you don't believe Jesus was the Savior, you should be wise enough to do the research to know there are records showing he lived and was executed.

I think you've got a point there.
Let's continue in this vein. For example, people die every day, yet they don't ask for special consideration or insist on being worshipped for doing so. If Jesus was really God and a nice God at that, why did he put this guilt trip on that his dying (which all people must do anyway, and which he signed up to do by becoming a man) ONE TIME was enough to get ALL PEOPLE, for ALL ETERNITY to call him their 'savior'???
Is that a sick case of popularity-seeking or what?

you would be top yet that isn't why Jesus became into sacrificed. Jesus became into the in basic terms top Sacrifice for our sins and us. Like in the previous Testiment whilst that they had burndt alternatives etc. God did away with that and made His Son thee sacrifice. Jesus might have long previous returned to Heavan at any given 2d yet He enjoyed us adequate to bypass with the aid of the terriable suffering He went with the aid of.

Jesus was God in the flesh....which means that he was human. And as such, he feared the same things that you do. We all want to avoid pain. We all want to live....unless we have some sort of mental imbalance. Jesus knew what he had come here to do, and even though he understand and was willing to do it, I am sure that he wasn't enjoying it.
BTW.....I don't consider myself a Christian....but I do believe that Jesus did indeed exist.

Hurt like f.ck tho' wouldn't it?
And there was a stage of the whole gristly business when He lost the assurance of heaven - which must have been pretty damn horrible.
The one I always wondered about, was Oral Roberts - the one who said The Almighty would smite him unless he came up with 6 millions dollars. Surely, he ought to have been glad to go?
