When I was starting 6th grade years ago, it was because I was going to middle school grades 6th - 8th and I was scared because of that. I wasn't a young child anymore. I was going to school with older kids. I was scared I wouldn't fit in, but I did. I started to run Track and then I tried out for cheerleading and made it. I started to feel better then and realized I had nothing to worry about. I had no idea I could cheerlead or even run as good as I did. Try doing extra activities to meet people and discover new talents. I ended up cheerleading in high school and danced as well. Ends up, everyone else was just as scared as I was, even if they didn't want to admit it. You'll be fine.
P.S. They can't make you take a shower. Take them in the mornings and bring stuff to freshen up after gym. Most likely other girls won't shower either. But bring a swim suit if you feel you need to shower.

If your scared to take a shower in PE or whatever dont worry. This summer I was invited to a JROTC camp, it was like basic training for us. We stayed at a real training base. Guess what? When we took showers we had to do them all at the same time as a platoon, no stalls, so every shower is full of guys and we had a time limit. No one laughs or even pays mind to other guys, just do your business and get out. Easy.

Its natural to be a bit nervous! my sister just started 6th grade and she was a bit anxious at first but then it turned out really nice and she found new friends and even some of her old friends. Don't worry, just try to be calm and everythings gonna be fine! I would do anything to go back to 6th grade!!

Your scared because your body is changing. Don't worry so is everyone else's. People will be taller than you, shorter than you. They will have hair here and there, maybe more than you, maybe less. Don't worry about it. Just don't take a shower at school, it's not like you work up enough sweat during gym class to make a difference. Just wash up and apply deodorant.

U R afraid because u r going into the sixth grade. I think u r becoming self aware and so r others and that may make u nervous. That is typically normal for everyone.

What do you mean showers? You don't take showers in the 6th grade! Why you don't even take a physical education class until junior high and even then they don't force you to take showers.

I don't really understand what you are afraid of--is it school itself, or showering in front of other people? Don't let it worry you, you will do a lot of it during your life--so much that it will not even cross your mind. Gym classes, team sport athletes, soldiers, gym members, even golfers all shower and walk around naked as a j bird in front of each other, it is no biggie.

i wasnt afraid of school; i hated school to the point that i became afraid of school. and it was for a number of reasons, one being that i cannot pass my exams bec i cant seem to concentrate in class and kept thinking of something else. and right after college, i still have nightmares about being in hs, bec that was when i really have to pass to go to college but seemed to be having to much a hard time passing...
u will get pass it, dont worry.. we have no choice while we are at school. but it is school that will give us many choices in the future. so learn to love it. always pray for the best and do ur best. good luck!

Are you kidding me? You get to take showers with chicks! Not like you're not a chick already, but a lot of guys would do anything for that. Or at least I would because.... I'm sick like that.

You're afraid of the unknown. After a while you won't be afraid. Just be yourself, though. Don't try to act like everyone else. You'll lose your individuality.
