I am looking for a good deal on flights, anything under $300. Prices for flights are outrageous. Any suggestions..greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This time of year your hard press to find anything even close to the price your looking for.
One thing you might consider is some of the airlines and tour company's offer flight and hotel for a very low rate. Often cheaper than just buying R/T air.
ATA out of LAX is about the cheapest airline.

The cheapest flights are going to be out of LAX, not ONT. The last time we went to Hawaii I looked for months to track the fares and they rarely went below $288. Check every day, and know that the new fares are generally published on Wednesdays.
Check out comparison sites like sidestep.com as well as airfarewatchdog.com.

Sign up for the Top 20 travel deals at TravelZoo.com. Every Wednesday they will email you their top 20 deals for the week. Many times there are deals for Aloha Air or Hawaiian. I haven't seen anything less than $149 each way lately though. Check the sunday LA times for ads for Hawaiian Air or Aloha. And keep checking the airline websites. Sign up for Hawaiian and Aloha's frequent flyer programs and get on their mailing lists.
