yes my dog seems to enjoy a good tummy rub and even a scratch behind her ears, do u think she really enjoys it or i think she does it's an old saying?

it feels good! they can't reach those areas, so when we do it, they love it. try rubbing your tummy the same way...then you'll know how she feels..but you'll have to also remember they have lot's of hair on their body too..so they probably get itchy. hehe. ;-)

Rolling over and exposing its tummy is a dogs why of showing you than it submits to your leadership. Also the dog hopes for a show of affectopm by the tummy rub.
Rolling a dog over into submission position is one training technique used in the TV show "The Dog Whisperer".

well they can't rub their tummy on their own.
Same goes for scratching their backs.
I've got dachshunds and they LOVE for the area all around their eyes to be scratched lightly. I start scratching on top of their heads and gradually, and carefully move lower as I scratch lightly directly over their closed eyes. They love it.
Think about any area that they can't reach with their own paws, they love those areas to be scratched by their human companions.

I think she enjoys it because my dog does too. I have a shih tzu and she loves it when i scratch behind her ears. i think they like it because it feel good since they can't do it themselves.

They can't reacj it to scratch themselves. and let me ask you a question to help you better understand.... why the heck do you ike to have you're feet, head, and back rubbed!?!?! it just feels good, right? same with dogs! hope i helped!

humans hands are softer and there isnt that much hair on the belly so its really soft to them. and it shows them stability in a relationship with the owner. Kinda like hugging your husband/wife
