Depending on the field, and the location, there is plenty of work available in Australia. At the moment we have a major skills shortage in fields such as medicine, education, IT, engineering and most trades.
Depending on your specialisation in the IT field, you might be able to find a job really easily here, as some specific IT fields are desperately short on workers. You might even be able to name your price. On the other hand, we had a big glut of IT workers here, in other fields within that industry a few years ago, and finding work in them specific fields will be very hard. I think seek.com.au is a pretty good job search web engine, which should give you a good idea of what people are looking for.
The other thing to remember, is that your location is going to affect how easy it is to find work. In western NSW, there is a lot of work going in most industries, because not many people want to live there. On the other hand, work is VERY hard to find in most costal resort towns in North Eastern NSW, simply because of the number of people competing to live and work there.

I run an Australian IT company, my husband is also an IT contractor. Most IT jobs is Australia are through job agencies, basically the IT company or goverment department go to the agency, then the agency find the personell, by advertising on websites, like www.seek.com.au. If you have the skills you will be able to find a job very quickly (a week or 2). I suggest moving to the major cities like Melbourne, or Sydney, or Canberra. (Canberra has alot of Government departments)

you can register with Seek australia and it will email jobs to you daily in which ever feild you choose, unfortunately you may have one big problem, Aust is going through a trade shortage, we need trades people not computer people so immigration will be difficult for you....oz is seeking nurses and trades people, we have plenty of every other field. ( especially computers, hence the reason we have a trades shortage, everyone has been studying computers instead of getting a trade)

i might want to assert to target to detect a company that works in both international places already, search for suggestion from with their workers dept and attempt to get to the rustic. that is slightly frustrating findinga job in San Antonio except you talk Spanish, maximum of southern Texas company jobs are bilingual. i might want to represent attempting to earnings it once you're searching into immigrating or seem into someplace slightly further north. i imagine an excellent form of jobs in San Antonio were taken through the folk who were compelled to leave New Orleans and relocate to there, i comprehend it really is authentic in Dallas.
