My church interprets this as not having woman pastors. We do have a thriving women's ministry, we have weekly bible study, all women, it's so great. The men have bible study, too. Of course we all come together on Sundays (!), but no women pastors.
Other churches don't agree and they do have women pastors.
My feeling about this is, I don't have any argument with my church not having women pastors. And, if another church does have a woman pastor, that is their business.

That passage is specifically relating to having women preachers for a church. Paul did not believe that it was correct, since men are to be the head of the house as Christ is the head of the church. It does not, however, prevent a woman from being a deacon (or deaconess, if you prefer) and having a leadership role like that in the church, nor does it prevent her from having a role as a teacher of children or women's study groups, etc. More important is to love the Lord with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. Let the Lord lead you in the rest as you are ready to open yourself to His word.

you know the very famous story wherein jesus told a group to let he who was without sin throw the first stone? This story was never told in the time of Christ - no copies of gospels have it until after 400 a.d. In other words, it's a great story, great message, but jesus never ever said it. What else in the new testament is like that? Just about everything Paul wrote, I'd say. The jerk destroyed christianity, trying to reduce a great ethical system to a chant and free pass into heaven.

You were born with a brain. Use it ! Be wary of any single source of information. It scares me to think ANYONE has all the answers. Examples of such arrogance are evident daily. Think, analyze, question, sift all data with patience. Don't be afraid to question your thoughts/ideas as time passes and presents more choices. We don't need instantanious solutions for all time. If there is one thing that's certain to change, it's change itself. I hope this answer will stimulate your brain activity to think critically. Ask yourself: "Does it make sense?"

That dosen't mean that she cannot teach. That just simply means that man is authority over woman. Man has always been over woman. Man has the last word so to speak.

We have the whole complete Bible--Old and New Testaments!
In order to understand the Bible correctly one must pray and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them! You must not take one portion or one verse and base your theology on it. Study the Whole Word of God!

You have to Read the entire passage... you can't just pick out a verse and try to use it out of context... That passage is talking about the offices in a Church setting...
