Probably not the whole idea that if you drink alone you are a " 'alcoholic" is Stupid and scientiffily unfounded . If you live alone you will prbably drink a few alone . If I came home and have a cold beer ALONE . I am, not a alcoholic no matter what AA says . .I am having a cold beer and people waching on my small balcony . Maybe I want to be alone and quiet for a few hours, it used to be called relaxing.
If you live alne goe home and have a cold beer fro example is that abuse . Not in my book even if you havea few .
it is when you consummption of alcohol cusles problesm in your life on a regular basis I .E. repeat DUIs in les than a year . Getting arrested for things alot when drunk then yes you have a problem
But drinking alone that is streaching the whole concept of abuise to the breaking point .
Prmarially to fill beds at rehabs that would be shut down were it not for courts ordering DUIs into rehab and AA meetings

Some people claim that drinking alone leads to alcoholism. I'm not sure if this is true, However many alcoholics claim that is how they started drinking. I myself think you have a predestination to alcoholism if you come from a family that has alcoholics.

No not really. I like to have a glass of whiskey when reading students work or planning a lesson. If your facing the wall in the dark....then its a problem.

WHY DO YOU DRINK? ARE YOU DEPRESSED? ALCOHOL ALTERS THE BRAIN ACTIVITY, IT SLOWS IT DOWN. ALCOHOL DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEMS, IT JUST ADDS TO THEM.IF YOU DRINK CAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A JOB, IN THE MORNING YOU STILL WON'T HAVE A JOB, BUT NOW YOU HAVE A HANGOVER. WAY TO GO. STOP DRINKING AND SAVE YOUR MONEY.
