Your beliefs don't even have to factor in to this question. It's a question about logical arguments. Is it even possible to ever prove 100% for sure that God doesn't exist. I don't think it is. I don't think He exists, but it can never ever be proven. If I said "I believe there is another Earth-like planet in the universe somewhere." Scientists could look forever for it but you could never prove it isn't there. You can always say that you just haven't yet found it. It doesn't matter if you search for one million years or more, all it means is that you haven't found it YET.
But I think 10,000 years or more from now, if human beings are still on the Earth, everyone will have to be atheist. Science will be so advanced it will explain everything anyway. Plus, imagine 10,000 with no miracles, no prayers coming true, no Jesus returning to Earth, etc, nobody could possibly still believe. People believe now because it still seems possible Revelation could come true, I suppose.

"It's a consequence of the experience of science. As you learn more and more about the universe, you find you can understand more and more without any reference to supernatural intervention, so you lose interest in that possibility. Most scientists I know don't care enough about religion even to call themselves atheists. And that, I think, is one of the great things about science -- that it has made it possible for people not to be religious."
- Steven Weinberg
Good quote.

the only possible scenario is if a supreme alien race was once here and decided to return to see how humans handled the notion of god and worship which they created for us

In some cases, yes. You say that one must search the entire universe to know that something does not exist. This is not always true, sometimes a negative can be proven. This depends on your definition of god though; the god of the Bible's supposed existence can be disproved. Consider a square circle. Does one have to search the entire universe to know that a perfect circle with corners doesn't exist? No. What about a 4 pointed triangle? Does one have to search every area of the universe to know that a 4 pointed triangle doesn't exist? No. These things cannot possibly exist anywhere because by definition they have properties that contradict one another. This is the same way it is with the god of the Bible. For example, the god of the Bible is omniscient (all knowing) and he has free will. These two properties of the god of the Bible are mutually exclusive; they cannot both be true at the same time. If god is perfect and all knowing, then his knowledge cannot be wrong. He knows everything that's going to happen in the future for all of time; his future is fixed. If god knows tomorrow that he is going to go to the mall at 5:00, then he cannot decide to go at 6:00 instead because that would mean his knowledge was wrong about going at 5:00. In other words, god has no free will, he cannot make decisions. If god cannot make decisions, he cannot do what is best for us and he is not a personal being that watches over us and cares about us. The god of the Bible has properties that contradict one another, proving that he cannot possibly exist. The god of the Bible doesn't exist just like a square circle, a 4 pointed triangle, and a married bachelor don't exist.
That really doesn't matter though, the burden of proof is on the one making the claim (the believer).
By the way, I agree, that's a good quote and House is awesome!

You, and a huge percentage of thoughtful and educated people, give too much to science. Science is very much a belief system based on unproven postulates: Objectivity, universality, if it is repeatable and reproducible then the equation that I wrote is the truth. Science is a philosophy and a way of looking at the world, and sadly, theologians are capitulating to science and reinterpreting very profound "religious" tomes in light of what they think is the truth from science. Evolution is unquestionably an accurate interpretation of the data. And in genesis! The laws of nature were expressed, in a non-mathematical form in genesis: God created the world (mass) and created light (the wave). And from that all things were created: There exists a pair of equations for the Universe that defines mass and it's wave nature, and these two equations describe all things possible. IE: the universe is not a collection of disjointed unrelated equations, it is two equations that describes everything possible or probable -- consciousness included. The emerald tablets of Hermes say the same thing. The first verses of Genesis says it all.
Please, stop adoring science as though it is more powerful than God. It isn't, it is only a tool, and humanity has misused and mismanaged that tool. Damn it gets me excited when I get the impression that people actually believe that Science is the truth. I laugh, science is sooooo off track it is laughable. It is true that we have done many good acts with science, lord knows that we are living longer, but that doesn't mean that science has uncovered profound truths. Science's success in medicine and war does not mean that science has uncovered any truths, most of science is gibberish, but admittedly effective gibberish.

Example :
Mount Rushmore is a structure on a mountain in South Dakota that has the faces of four presidents carved on it. The evidence for Mount Rushmore’s design is direct, eyewitnesses saw the sculptor spend time designing and building this structure. But what if there were no direct evidence for Mount Rushmore’s design? What if humans went extinct and aliens, visiting the earth, discovered Mount Rushmore in substantially the same condition as it is now? In that case, the rock formation would provide convincing circumstantial evidence that it was due to a designing intelligence and not merely to wind and erosion? Designed objects like Mount Rushmore exhibit characteristic features or patterns that point to intelligence. A similar comparison is human and nature. Humans found themselves in a world that is finely tuned. They have no direct evidence of the origin of this world or how it was designed.
If you trace back as far as we got to know .. The big bang. What caused the big bang (if it is true) .. where all these genetic material came from .. how it was created ????
There got to be a designer man .. There got to be a God !!

In 10,000 years there will have to be a new religion because there is always somthing to know so they'll just take the unexplaned and call it God. Peganism is now outdated because we can explain most of it and it lost it's reputability. The same will hapen with Christianity. Also NO, you can't disprove gods existance because religion is not a science. Its like trying to prove black cars are better then red ones.

I don't know of anyone else besides the creator who cares how many hairs are on my head. Faith is the assurance of promises though not seen. Science will never be able to explain everything because man did not create man and only an idiot would believe that all of the wonderful natural things including the earth are here by accident. A little maturity will convince you of these things, I believe.

Scientifically it has been proven that God don't
exist.. yet with Christian Science they ignore the science proof and rely on faith! Or Science
of Faith! I simply feel there is a God.. I don't call it a belief... it's a feeling I feel! If You get that feeling.. you might start singing I saw the Light! I'm not of any particular faith but I go for
Unitarianism.. Celebrate life. Once you are saved why keep listening to you need to be saved? That's just sheer idiotcy. That's why I go to Unitarianism ( in the U.S, some places may call it Universalism) celebrate life!

There is no way to quantify the question...now or ever. Can you fit a spiritual being into a test tube?
This is not an argument that can be given an absolute answer. There is no mathematical proof, no formula and no picture of God. There is no video of Him walking around and no way that those who refuse to believe can be brought to it through logical argument.
That is precisely why revelation is called revelation...it is not something which can be unveiled but God must reveal Himself to each of us individually. It is by His grace that gift of faith is given. No scientist can qualify or quantify it for us.
The proof is individual and the experience of the individual is all that the believer needs. There will never be a point where science will explain everything away...we are going to come to a point where knowledge can not be pressed forward because we are finite. Finite beings can never pass into infinite knowledge. There is simply not enough time.
If we continue or our present path, all of our technological toys will distract from questions such as these, and they will be lost to our entertainment...not a utopia of science but the lethargy of comfort.

God's existence can't be proved neither disproved because it's possible to prove or disprove everything the bible says but it's impossible to know as a fact the existence of god because the existence of a god would be beyond our universe and any science known by men or future science can't analyze anything beyond our universe. For example when Stephen Hawking received and award medal for science from the Vatican the pop himself told him that it's ok to investigate all that surround us but that when we get to the first point in the history of the universe we shouldn't look beyond there because that's god territory

The existance or non-existance of God can not be proven by any mortal means... You already know that and so do most who post the same question here with some regularity.
I, and others of The True Christian Faith, know that God exists. We can not prove it to you and most of us do not even try to prove it to anyone. I did not believe God existed, except perhaps as "The Force". That is untill God made it very cleat that He dose indeed exist. His Call is to all who will hear. Unfortunatly the majority never do.

Of course it's not possible to disprove god's existence. The tooth fairy, easter bunny, god, and godzilla cannot be proven to exist, nor proven to not exist.
10,000 years from now, some people will still believe in god(s), though. Humans will always need an excuse to believe that death isnt really the end, that its right to pick on gay people, and all the other irrational crap for which religion serves as the basis.
