I just moved in with a guy friend and I've heard him inform me of his future dump-taking at least four times. It's been 6 days! I have a feeling this is going to be a long year.

But don't think this is the first time I've heard this. Of all my years hanging out with dudes most of the time, this seems to be their favorite subject. They seem to have more names for No. 2 than Eskimos have words for snow. Men, what is the deal?!

Did you consider that it is a warning, to give you the chance to go before he destroys the atmosphere. I know I appreciate the opportunity to avoid breathing the essence of others business.

Z Driver gave you the right answer. We're boys. We play with frogs, put snakes under girls pillows, and tell funny jokes about what goes on in the bathroom. When we fart, we exaggerate how loud it was and how bad it smelled, and we pretend that it grossed us out every bit as much as it did to other people. We are among the foremost of those who were offended by it, yes. It amuses us to act very prim and proper about something we did but should not have done, or to show elaborate concerns for something that most reasonable people don't give much thought to. Especially if it stinks.

I would just say he is announcing b/c maybe he is embarrassed if you go in after him and are all sicked out. Like some others here, I also like to be informed of future dumpings so I don't go in the bathroom right after. That's so sick. Especially when they don't spray air freshener and then leave the door open. OMG

Well think about this, have you ever graphically described your period to your girlfriends? Its kind of the same in some ways. I don't think that we're going to change our policy on dump announcing, most likely because we don't think twice about it when we're at home or in a group of other men. I don't think I've actually answered anything here, its a tough question.
