im a guy and use gel to spike my hair, using gel makes my hair hard and i was wondering if anyone knows a product that could get my hair up but still soft, kind of a natural look.. kinda like stephen from laguna beach i guess

wipped wax by regis or headbanger spray wax by tigi, or any sort of pomade or light hold styling cream by american crew

Switch to a hair wax or a firm hold styling creme. Gels and mousse are passe.

Use Tresomme extra hold mousse. Blow dry it upside down (seriously) using your fingers to guide it straight up. Take a pick & as you shape it use Mink extra hold hairspray all over. Never use cream rinse on your hair, it makes it to soft. I had this style for 15 years. Sure bet. Good luck.

Try a pomade. Aveda makes a really good one that my husband uses. It's not too heavy, and it doesn't smell too girly. If you don't want to get Aveda, I'm sure you can find another lightweight wax or something similar.
