In response to no1shthead66. I already have 2 children and they were induced by the dr. and i had such a hard time with the labor, and they are talking about doing it again so I was thinking about trying a natural method becuase I have heard from others that it not so intense and it just aids your body with you body still being in control - the drugs controlling your body. That is why I was asking. I was not going to risk the life of myself and especially not my baby.

Thank you so much for your help. I understand. I am afraid the I will have the same traumatic births if I have to be induced with the drip again. I have an irritable uterus as well the has sent me into labor a few times. I have been in and out of hospital so many times since 25 weeks it is honestly driving me crazy and I am so scared.

Don't induce your own labor. Simple as that.
Things like sex and walking won't hurt you. They'll only bring on labor if your body and your baby are ready.
But other things--some herbs, castor oil, etc--are actually dangerous.
And it's crazy; I mean, you probably worried through your pregnancy about what you should and shouldn't eat, and what vitamins you should take, and how much exercise you should get, and now, at the finish line, you're thinking about taking matters into your own hands against the advice of your medical care provider? Doesn't make sense to me.
Believe me: I know how those last weeks of pregnancy drag on, especially when it's hot outside. But it's best to just tough it out.
If there's a medical reason why you should deliver sooner instead of later, your DOCTOR will induce your labor.

Why would they have a reason to test?
Midwives I know routinely offer herbal tea mixtures and recipes that are safe and get labor started, keep it going, make labor easier and recovery faster. Don't over do on anything. No matter what you do, if you're baby and body aren't ready for labor, only time will help. Doing something ridulous to start labor before you're baby is in proper position may lead to complications, sometimes c-section.
Check out the midwifery link, then surf for more info on other midwife sites. Make sure you do some research on the herbs before you take anything. What works for 1 person may be toxic to someone else.
I know it feels like forever, always does, but it'll be over soon. Relaxing is the best way to get the ball rolling.
Just read your comment. Know exactly what you mean which is why my last 3 were all born at home and on my own. Check out the second link at bottom. You're not alone in what you're feeling. Make a birth plan and have your partner help you stick to your guns regarding treatment. Drug induced labor isn't without side effects or complications either. I go all natural.
Oh, and Patients Rights. You have the RIGHT to decline medical treatment and/or induction. You have the RIGHT to have the last say in everything that is done, including whether or not your confined to bed with a monitor, induced with drugs, and when or maybe not at all, the cord is cut. You are the master of your own body. Just because it's faster or better for them doesn't make it right for you. Find a good support person. Consider hiring a Doula.

I know the desire to get things going, but messing with nature is a BAD thing. You don't know what will happen, other than you will induce labor. What if the baby is not ready, and you inducing labor early causes serious harm to your child? Is that a risk you are willing to take because you are excited and can't wait for the child to be born (or you're sick of being pregnant, and want the kid out NOW)?
Allow the child to decide when it is time. I know that it seems like it is taking FOREVER, but things will be better in the long run. Both for you and your unborn baby. Don't mess with things - doctors get sued for that when they do it and things go wrong. If you have no medical degree, leave well enough alone.

That would depend on what you used.
As a long time OB nurse, let me advise you not to try this.
Babies are induced medically all the time, and we still get way too many babies born too immature. They end up needing help breathing, either oxygen therapy or ventilator.
We also get babies who are what we called birth "shocked" or "stunned". They deliver too rapidly, and the baby has trouble acclimating to the outside world. And these are cases of being induced in a medical setting.
Your baby needs the proper amount of time to grow, and to go through the birth process as normally as possible.
Regardless of what the herbal supplement literature says, there has not been any REAL research on the effect of most herbs on undelivered babies or pregnant women.

I took Black Cohosh in an organic tincture for hard artwork for the two my organic childbirths. It facilitates in case you have been taking organic herbs ( like pink rasperry, etc) throughout the time of being pregnant so as that tyour physique would be greater receptive. the two labors have been 2 hours and under 10 minutes of "pushing", via fact of my organic nutrition/organic nutritional plan. i'm no longer an expert, yet I observed an outstanding woman who does telephone consultations. She has 30 years adventure. Her call is Yvonne Sklaar in El Segundo, California. Her cyber web website is: resourceful well being options. She helped me grant the two my little ones (a protracted time 171/2 and 13 years old) and the two little ones have in basic terms caught chilly possibly three times of their childhoods. ( She helped me supply them super immune structures)

I wouldn't ingest anything for fear that it could be harmful to the baby but sex and walking is thought to help. Hopefully you will start on your own. With my last one I was supposed to be induced at 5 p.m. but started at 1 a.m. the night before. I don't think he liked the idea of being forced out so decided that he would come out on his own terms.
