I was thinking what has to be done to promote the idea that humanity will survive. It's no secret that we may not have enough resources to last much longer and it makes sense why we still have 3rd world countries, it could reduce that time to half, or a quarter. If we had access to all the best intelligence, would we have a plan B. To keep the masses confused while they built us means to survive a great catastrophe that we may actually create and store the natural resources for our own survival. Spirituality, regardless of faith/belief has done alot for us and science, but choosing not to understand hasn't. Think of where you fit in with this scenario, The confused member of the masses and laborer, or the knowledge seeking future planning surviver. The story must go one.
The Real question is this, who feels they are worthing of being selected as a survivor and can contribute if we had to start over tomorrow, or later.
I'm not saying we shouldn't try to solve the problems on our own,

You're taking a few slight problems and working yourself into a frenzy. Gas, while becoming scarcer, still only costs about as much as a gallon of milk. The free market will allow alternative forms of energy to come online as the prices for energy rise. The free market will also promote conservation. I don't see any reason for your "worst case" scenario. Will life change? Yes, somewhat, but we have already changed a lot. (I'm old enough to remember gas lines in the 1970's when people thought the world as we knew it would pass away.) People still are buying Hummers, you still have electricity and internet access, and all the cities and towns in the USA are functioning at their energy-hog best.

Trust the market and human ingenuity, which has done an excellent job for over 150 years (since the industrial revolution) of finding new ways to solve the problems that arise. Survivalist thinking will just effect you in a negative way, making you paranoid and pessimistic.

Who would think that they would have something worthwhile to contribute? Would you trust those who would day that they were worthwhile? What would be a legitimate skill to survive? I think that attempting to solve the problems now is the most important thing which is in part what exploration is all about...

Resource questions aside, what gives any of us the right to live another day? Does the making of money and providing for family gives us a good reason to survive? Does having knowledge give us that right? Is there a real answer here or is it selection of the fittest....depending on the scenario of our eventual destruction is it those who adapt best to the new circumstances?

I guess the nest answer is....we'll find out who does adapt best to the new circumstances when they arise.

Well I will survive I'm fat and unlike the popular image of skinny people most skinny people will starve. they don't have the ability to store fat. So my family will glady feed on the dead livers of the weak and skinny . We will be the first of the troglodytes. My great grandchildren will laugh at the stories we tell of the old days when the skinny people were rounded up and bread for food. Ironically the selective breeding will probably result in the future food supply being fatter. Isn't life ironic.

I'm a survivor. Always have been. Always will be. You don't need religion to survive catastrophe. I know how to load and use many guns, and am skilled at the use of many other weapons, I know how to hunt, I know how to build. I have a vast knowledge and always seek more. Religious or not, you will always need many like me.

come to reality of existence. Earth and woman have been ignored for the hidden heavens in the skies.Love and Worship both as representatives of God. Without Mary there is no coming back of Jesus. Without Love there is no life. Religions provide mental artificial reliefs and could not come to face with reality.
Love the reality and live with a god who lives in the womb of this planet and the skies as well.

Humanity will always survive any catastrophe ... all will die but a few, who will scratch and peck at the ground, however frozen or hot, and make a new life.

Didn't you read The Stand? lol
