I guess it's easier to accept that your greatest grand dad is an ape than it is to accept a list of good ideals.

I don't have a good scientific answer for you, and you make a good point.
However, as a historian, I'd like to say that you underestimate and severly misrepresent the historical accuracy of the Bible. Things written in the Bible have been proved through other means, such as checking it with other historical texsts from the period, and through archaeology. Jews didn't just come from nowhere, don't ya think?
As for Creation facts, yes, the Bible does not present anything scientifically. But I only hope you can be careful and clear about what you're talking about. There were, in fact, a group of people named Israelites, and the best historical record of them is found in the Bible. The Bible is the most widely published history book in the world. You don't have to believe what it says about God, but the history there is pretty accurate. Why wouldn't it be?
However, the authors did make some mistakes in historical accuracy. This is not different from other ancient texts.
You should say, there are no facts for Creation, not for the Bible. It's not the Bible vs. Evolution. It's Creation vs. Evolution. Just be more specific.

I'm wondering how you come to say that all Christians believe evolution is poop.
Not all Christians believe the same things... only that Jesus is God's Son and has paid the price for all our messups and mistakes... that binds us under the one banner.
Evolution is still 'evolving' as a theory... more evidence is coming to light - just as there is evidence of a great catastophy that caused the extinction of masses of animals at the same time, that could indicate a flood.
If you hear from lots of scientists, some are finding things that could be in line with the bible, some find things that fit evolution and current scientific beliefs better.
I personally believe in the bible's version, but I'm not telling anyone else they are wrong or stupid. Is it possible that evolution moved quickly? could there be some assuption in that carbon has always decayed at the same speed?
For me its more important for me to spend my time living now rather than on that one particular point in time. Someone else who has spent time on it might give you an answer that you like better but then again, maybe not.

I'm a Christian and I question the Bible and evolution. For example for one creature to evolve into something else wouldn't the previous creature have to become extinct. If we come from apes then wouldn't all apes be extinct? And...If all these occurrences in the Bible really did happen, why tell the world? Wouldn't that just devalue or misconstrue what they really meant?
I believe that there are something that do not have explanation, and if we as a society try to find out the actual true we as humans would not be able to fully understand. Sometimes...don't question what you do not know you may never get an answer...things are because they are.

Great question, although I'm not sure if it is meant to be more of a statement. I'll do my best to answer.
I am a science geek who happens to be a Christian.
Look up evolution and you will find that it is noted almost everywhere as the "Theory" of evolution. The reason for this is that in science there are facts and theories. "In science 'fact' is an objective and verifiable observation" where a theory is an explanation of or interpretation of facts (from wikipedia).
The "Theory" of evolution is a logical conclusion from observable facts. I don't disagree with that one bit. Accepting this as truth is a matter of faith.
Faith is believing something to be true that cannot or has not been proven.
Some people accept evolution on faith in the logic of science, some accept creationism on faith in religion.
Neither one is wrong. Faith is a personal choice.
Thanks for reading.

The Bible has been authenticated by eyewitness accounts. Just like the method scholars use today to determine if historical events actually took place. They take the evidence from both sides, the eyewitnesses to the claims. In this case, the Bible has no evidence of anyone refuting what has happened. Therefore, we must except it as fact.
Concerning evolution, I'm no expert, but i know one of the reasons why it's not plausible is because of the fossil record.

I grew up in a christian home and what I believe as an adult is that any religion you are being TOLD what you are suppose to believe by one person standing at a mic. People don't know how to determine the difference.
Religion is a Personal understanding of life and yourself. No matter what you believe. If someone states that evolution is a fact or if its a lie, are all wrong. You don't know..you where not there..all you can believe is..is that it is possible. You can only believe in your heart to be true what you have seen with your own eyes. If you state it to be true by any other means, than you have nothing to back it up with and its probably a lie.

Go to http://answersingenesis.org/ and you'll see why we don't believe in evolution. And by the way our "little magical book" is not little or magical it is simply true. Have you ever bothered to read it?Science and the Bible go hand in hand. Creationists do not say hat evolution has no facts. That's not the point. The facts are all the same but we start with different beliefs about the facts. Like I said before visit http://answersingenesis.org/ and see the reasons we don't believe in evolution.

Here is the answer for you... ( btw, I'm a Catholic myself )
The theory of evolution is widely accepted by Catholics.
The old testament of Adam and Eve, along with many other "tales"... are actually just imagery, or symbolism.
To disregard science and its technology is foolish... therefore Catholics like myself have adopted to many cross references such as the evolution theory. Although we know humans came from little sea creatures, we also accept the faith behind the old testament.
But you have to remember that, even great scientists as Einstein has commented that behind research and science, there are so many things logic cannot explain... and that is when God come in =)
So accept both

First of all, your saying the bible has no basis in fact is inaccurate in itself. Archaeology is often discovering things that the bible references. Secondly, I believe the bible because I have studied it for a decade and seen the things in it proven true all around me, and within me.
The reason I do not believe in evolution is because I believe the bible. God created the earth and everything in it.
Now, if you don't believe, okay. But I would venture to say you've never really put any real thought or study into it.

Actually there really isnt more proof in one theory than another, its pretty evenly split down the middle, although there are more scientists, who due to their theological outlooks prefer to search science with the basis of evolution guiding their studies.
Really, neither group can argue much of anything, but Christians especially should not argue, since we claim that the world sees things through a foggy glass anyway. People should believe what they believe and not argue their reasons or attack the reasoning of others.
Its all pointless.
