Norton utilities 2006 on windows XP. File system is FAT32. Regarding "Speed Disk".

In the past, perhaps far past, speed disk was able to move folders to the beginning. How do I do this now? The help mentions a "folders tab". It even says that you can move folders, and sub-folders. There is nothing there. What do I have to type in? I can move .dll and .exe files by typing \**\*.exe and so on. Please tell me how to do the folders. I'm desperate.

I have Norton 2005 and have never optimized through Norton.

I have always optimized with defrag - which gathers all remnants of a file together, moves them to the front of the HD for easy access.

With WinXP

Open My Computer
right-click on C:
select Properties

from here you can do a Disk Cleanup, an error check, and a defrag.

Windows XP will not allow disk doctor to work unless you schedule it on startup. I have never heard of a problem with speed disk though I no longer use Norton. Windows defrag is fine
