It's possible to fit the 460 into a T-bird with a Mustang swap kit. I am not sure what you would need to fit it into a Crown Vic, but I'm pretty sure you can pull it off. Just be sure the oil pan clears things.
The Crown Vic built now looks very different, but it shares the same chassis. Consider swapping on the suspension from a modern cop car.

The biggest engine used on Crown Victorias after 1978 was the 351 Windsor and this was usually on Police Interceptor models. The 89 t-bird can also fit a 4.6 but the 5.0 302 c.i.d is a better engine already. You can squeeze a 5.8 litre into an MN-12 body style t-bird(1989-1997) although you'll need to replace some wires. A fox body t-bird (1980-1988) on the other hand can support a 460 with special motor mounts. You can pick those up at Jeg's or Summit.

The last car 460 would fit in was a 78 LTD, 79 Town Car.
Crown's of the 80's had a double bellow oil pan, 460 never had one cause it was in large cars. Largest engine to put in an 80's is the 351 W

love the chevy people with more engine options... last 40 years chevrolet has just used two basic block designs (not counting the newer engines since the late 90's as most don't hotrod the computerized engines in something that old)
on the Fords, anything can be made to fit into anything but 351W I think is the biggest sqeeze on the 89 t-bird comfortable (without cutting firewall)
I can't remember the year Ford changed the body style on the CV but I think the 351-400 would be the biggest where the motor mounts sit without cutting firewall or moving the motor forward...
Same problem exists on chevys and chryslers too

NOPE--you % clearance for the standards and the exhaust--the radiator and stuff won't paintings up against the motor--and the suspension won't carry it up--so which you have a great motor crammed in somewhat area--with a fan that chewed up your radiator and this is all laying hopeless on the floor--no longer shifting. OH confident--you % the pc change additionally---purchase a real vehicle and stop dropping money on junk---you may sell the 351 and placed it in direction of a sparkling vehicle for your self--good success

last guy is right...chevy does have a lot more engine options. i'm pretty sure a 460 might fit if you do some welding and torching. i think w/ the tbird a 4.6 and 5.0 will fit. also a 5.8.
