I'm American, and when I read things like this I feel embarrassed and just feel like apologizing. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with Americans. We are never going to improve our global image with Americans being impolite and disrespectful. I'm really sorry.
I know there are some people there that would probably love to help you. Just be friendly. If they are rude, realize the rest of us Americans are ashamed of the person who acted that way, and move on to someone else. I hope you find an English speaking friend to help you that the rest of us can be proud of.

Well, with you living in the United Arab Emirates, you're going to find that Americans are much different than the culture you are used to. Try going into websites with people from Great Britain instead of America. While I am American, I readily admit that English people have far better manners than most Americans.

Learn English from the British. Most Americans can't speak or write proper English.

I like the attitude (ha)....put down americans then look for one to help you out...gee.
What do you mean "hang out with"...don't you mean pay them to teach you? What they will teach you is "conversational english". Go to your nearest school and ask around for an "English as a Second Language" instructor/teacher.

I think most Americans are sociable. That's why I stay away from them.

...wow, calling people "retarded" is a GREAT way to find native English speaking people to talk with you. Perhaps it is YOU who is being unsociable.
