Even Nick Arrojo didn't do this himself on What Not To Wear. He took the girl to a color specialist. I would say that you need to see a really good color specialist. It is possible to make your hair fall out, you can be temporarily bald by accident.

Hello! I know how to get your lovely black hair to the gorgeous blonde you're wanting. My hair was dark, like medium to darkish brown hair. I did have baby hairs that were blonde, but that wasn't good enough. I've always wanted blonde hair, just like you did. So, I did some researching and the key answer to solve my wants was by applying Hydrogen Peroxide. Yes, Hydrogen Peroxide. Steps to doing it: get your hair all wet from Hydrogen Peroxide. Two, have the sunlight shine on your hair for a few hours. The longer, the lighter. My hair went from dark to blonde! I've added a photo to show what it has done to my hair. Now, one "side affect" would be orange hair when it first changes your hair, but DO NOT FEAR, it will go away. Also, my hair was brown and it already had a natural blonde highlights from where the sun hit it. Your hair is black, usually black hair changes to a reddish tint. Go and try it though, any hair color never looks bad. :) Also, if your hair is naturally healthy, silky, etc. Worrying about damaging your hair, not a big deal. Hope I've been a great help! Have a good one, Ocean Breeze.

Hello, how long have you had the black? If it has been at least six months then you should be able to strip it out and bleach it using a peroxide based stripper. Then you will have to re-dye it using the blonde you want. Highlights will have to wait at least a couple of weeks.

stripping your hair is not a 100% proof that it will get the black out. i had the same problem and hit salon after salon and none of them assured me it would work. they said also that dye would not overturn dye. teh only thing i know is that vinegar will lighten your hair, wash it a bunch of times and also work your way up to blonde. do not dye it blonde right away. this may not be what you want to hear because patience is hard when you want a change fast but this is just on personal experience.

go to a professional hair dresser! it may take several steps over a few days or weeks. If you try and do it in one leap you will end up with a color you are NOT expecting and may SERIOUSLY damage your hair!

I once died mine black by accident. Someone had gone through the hair dyes in my local store and just started swapping out the bottles inside the boxes. I neglected to verify the number on the bottle was the number on the box. So I decided to dye it blonde.... My har came out frizzled, and a HORRIBLE combination of a ghastly grey and NEON orange! I had to have my waist length hair cut off VERY short! It was horrid and has taken YEARS to get it back!

The only way to get dark dye out of your hair is to bleach or strip it. Both are extremely damanging. Hair dye CANNOT lighten hair that is already darkened.

umm.... you can get it stripped or bleached. sometimes it doesnt work to strip it, so you havee to bleach it.

if you dont want to do that you can use dishsoap and baking soda to help lighten it soo it wont be reallyyyy darkk. thats what i did cause it was too expensive to get it stripped. but if you want it blonde you should get it stripped.

NO, and this is by experience, you can not. You will have to settle for another colour if you have it stripped or have it grow out and then bleach and colour... sorry to say.
