Religion is like a buffet. No one walks into a buffet and tries everything. After all, oysters and Jell-O don’t mix!!! You take what looks good. So let me ask you this, what would be more hypercritical, what I just said, or saying that you believe the whole bible?

I do not like the word religious. I believe that Jesus came to the earth to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us to have a personal relationship with God.
I believe that the Bible is God's life manual for us. It is valid at all times. You cannot really pick and choose what you want to obey if you want to follow Jesus.
I concentrate more to the New Testament. We are under the new covenant. We get saved only by the mercy and grace of God.
Christianity is a life style.

Too many people who claim adherence to a Holy Book never take the time to actually read it completely, let alone in the language it was written in. They allow others to do their thinking for them.
Through understanding that comes with studying the Word of YHVH, I know what the difference is between laws that have been abolished, and the requirements and commandments that stand eternal. Most importantly, I also know to whom covenants were made, and the responsibility I have to our Father.

For Christians, Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses.
Christians are not held to the ceremonial parts of the Mosaic Law concerning of dietary purity and temple worship.
Christians are held to the eternal moral law of God, some of which is expressed in the Ten Commandments.
However Jesus took the Ten Commandments to the next step summarizing them into the two Great Commandments:
+ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.
+ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
And teaching things like
+ Everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
+ Everyone is our neighbor including our enemies.
Therefore we have to go much farther than the original recipients of the Ten Commandments ever dreamed.
With love in Christ.

Why would you choose to not obey some and not all. You should really try to obey as best as you can all around. Sometimes life throws you curve balls, then in the moment make the best decision you can; according to your morals.

I follow two religions .the one my parents sent me to and the one of my chosing.
I follow the laws of the Christian bible that make the most common sense.mostly the New Testament. there are still some common sense laws that apply today as they did in those days.
I try to follow all of the laws of the religion of my chosing Celtic pagan.realizing that no one is perfect or can rember all of the laws In either religion much less their interpatation for the lesser ones added by man. the ones made by the CREATOR are plenty clear and the reasoning sound.

Is labeling of people really necessary? I don't use one except Christian. But to answer your question, I don't choose to disobey, or even ignore any of it. God put it there for a reason. I do however place the most importance on the parts that say to love God with all my heart, and to love one another.

Interpretations are subjective. People tend to believe and obey what they want (& can).
I. for one, just decide what is right & wrong, to the best of my ability, and act on it. I don't try to "second guess" Scriptures. (I believe in God to the N-th degree and I'm open to the Truth. I'll wait for Jesus to return & tell us what that is.)
Peace.

You can study any religion. However....
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.
It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.
Friendsip is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity.
