An ESL student of mine is got her US Citizenship recently and is being sworn in next month. I want to buy a little congratulations present - what should I get her?

First and foremost, let this student know that every American citizen thanks and respects her for coming here legally and going through the proper immigration channels (maybe you could send out a card through the internet or something and you would have millions of Americans who would be happy to say thanks and welcome to the US legally- I would gladly be the first to sign it). Otherwise, why not make her a care package of all things "American"- buy her a baseball, hot dogs, an apple pie, and I'll assume that Chevy is a bit more than you are hoping to spend. An American flag, something with the Statue of Liberty, maybe a book on American history and or culture, or any other product that is made in and represents American culture would make an ideal gift.
