I know an individual who is currently out of jail on a $4000.00 bond. It was a cash bond meaning someone (not a bondsman" paid the entire $4000.00 cash...to have him released. Well now he is in Texas and is vehemently stating he WILL NOT GO BACK TO COURT. He is facing 3 Misdemeanorcharges of driving on a suspended or revoked license. One of the charges he already been found guilty of contempt because he didnt previously show up.
Is it likely that the authorities will have him arrested if they recieve info he is in Texas once the warrant is issued? In other words...will Florida cops come and get his a$$?????Over a situation like this?

Doesn't matter if the bond was $40 or $4000. Bail jumping is bail jumping. First a "failure to appear" charge will be added by the Judge. And YES, such a significant cash bond/bail jump will certainly be sought.

A cash bond is a guarantee that THE PERSON that paid the bond says they will insure that this person will show up for court.

Bail Bond: A written agreement executed by the defendant or another surety that the defendant will appear as required those persons (called sureties) must pay to the court the amount of money specified in the order fixing bail. This may be cash, surety, money order, check or property.

Cash Bond: the defendant deposits with the court the amount of bond money set by the court.

Forfeiture: if the defendant fails to appear as required, the judge may issue a bench warrant and declare a revocation of the bail bond or appearance bond.

So rest assured that this person will have a warrant issued. It won't be an APB, but still it will be a matter of record that this person is a bail jumper.

The first time he is stopped for some traffic thing? He will be taken into custody. Texas will contact Florida. Texas will take him to court for whatever, then he will be transported to Florida for the charges there.

Florida will come to Asia and get him for a jay walking ticket! ha ha

Seriously, they will indeed have him transferred back here to Florida. And the bond money will just be lost never to be gotten back by the person who paid it. Eventually someone will find he has a warrant and it will be over. He should just turn himself in and get it all over with, he won't get much time. Geez it's not murder. The authorities there will hold him for Florida and if someone wants to "help him" turn himself in then they should tell the local police his warrant is out of state, they may not look there first.

Since there is no bondsman to come get him, that won't happen. Whoever put up the $4000 is out $4000. He will still have a warrant against him so the police might try and extradite him on outstanding charges.

Yeah, a bench warrant is generally issued upon failure to appear. These days it means that any stop they run a check for will land him in jail.

Try to talk him into coming back and working through the issues. He should hire a lawyer who was a DA for that venue and just do whatever is needed to get clear of the charges.

They will of course take the 4000, and keep it, then they will issue a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear.

The warrant will stay active forever, so he will get stoped and then they will decide if they want hiim or not "right then" but they can say not now and just wait till he ever gets closer.

What county? in basic terms observed he's already left the state. call the interior of reach county or city dept that arrested him, you're able to provide them each and all of the information. enable them to bypass it to the State lawyer's workplace. If he's caught everywhere, i may well be somewhat stunned if FL extradited him on those expenditures. yet, if he's caught someplace, they'll see he's a flight danger and 3 DWLS, so consistent with danger that state will draw close directly to him.

Yes, at some point and time ....But tell him to go to court for those Misdemeanor charges.......Maybe10 to 30 days in jail and that might get suspended he is going to get some hefty fines........but if he continues to run when he finally gets caught that's when the Judge is going to bring down the HAMMER on him.........HARD......
