German Shepherds!! Border Collies!!

There is a reason why MOST police dogs are german shepherds... Great all around..

Bordre Collies as well but they arent as big and cant do as much damageto a crook like the German Shepherd...

The "smartest" breed depends on what type of smarts you are looking for. German Shepherd Dogs are probably the most trainable to human command (potential for training). Golden Retrievers are probably the easiest to train. Smartest in terms of problem solving would probably be the beagle.

chows, hands down. the trouble with chowsthough is they are usualy one person dogs, very teritorial, and if not properly handled they can be vicious. there is no better all around guard dog in existance. get a female pup and raise her at home. she may save you from a violent crime especialy if you are a city dude. the trouble with male chows isif you don,t keep them in a pen or on a chain they run wild at times and chew up every other male dog that lives in ten miles of your house. if confined they turn mean and even moer vicious

Border collies are really smart. Mutts usually make the best dogs though.

Black Labs, they're so smart and very eager to learn, seriously I've had one for the past six years and he knows every command there is to know, of course i taught them to him when he was in his youth.
