I really had no idea.

Everyone knows and loves the original DOVEBAR®. While Leo Stefanos created the DOVEBAR® as an ice cream treat in the 1950's, the DOVEBAR® quickly became known and loved for the crackling, luscious chocolate coating that we dipped onto each ice cream bar. The popularity of the chocolate layer led us to further develop, refine and improve our chocolate recipe. Our passion became creating the ultimate chocolate experience - to be enjoyed with ice cream, in a simple expression of a chocolate piece, or now even in a cookie.

For over fifty years, we at the Dove Company have been dedicated to our passion for creating the ultimate chocolate experience.

Dove is made by Mars, Inc now.

The other dove is the soap.
Dove is a soap and personal care brand (including hair care products) owned by Unilever. Dove soap is formulated to be pH neutral, with a pH that is usually between 6.5 and 7.5.

Dove products are manufactured in Hammond, Indiana and Germany. They are also manufactured in Brazil. The Dove trade mark and brand name is currently owned by Unilever

So my guess is they are too different companies that both recognize the silkiness of doves in their marketing.
