Yoga exercises like Naukasana and Pavana Muktasana, and Asanas which involves rolling of the muscles on the stomach part and the waist line in the body. One has to do also the Bhastrika Pranayama. Drink lots of water so that the body does not accumulate water like a cactus plant in a desert. One should have control on the food in take. Avoid taking fat-rich-food like butter and ghee, oil, and more than 1500 -2000 calories of food in a whole day. Eating fibrous food helps in reducing weight and fat.

Actually over the long term, running isnt a good idea.
(Vast majority of runners get knee problems eventually).
Walking initially, or even swimming is the best for a obese or 'big belly' guy or gal.
Running or jogging is good shortterm, but walking is better.
Ie; a 60minute walk will equal a 30min run..
The only benefit is the short term burst that over time becomes irrelevant in excersise or weight loss.

As a former avid bicyclist, I can swear to you that if you buy a good bicycle from a bicylce shop as opposed to those tanks they sell at Target, WalMart, Kmart, etc., and have toe clips or similar devices on the pedals, you can trim that stomach down so completely that you'll start showing the "6-packs" that everyone talks about. But this will cost you some money and some sweat, but you'll never feel better in your life, if you really ride to trim down. God Bless you.

Do a lot of walking and swimming. If you have a REALLY big belly and your feet hurt too much, do more swimming. Do at least an hour of cardio every day.

I have found crunches to work the best. If you do at least 100 every night you should notice some improvement in about 2 weeks.
