I have a copy of XP, the product key was on the computer itself, sadly the computer was stolen, so I have a copy of XP which I paid for and I do not have the product key.
If this is your case then you can try as I did and contct Microsoft, however after 7 months I still do not have my product key, so I suggest you simply do as I did and go buy another copy.

However if you are trying to use a hacked / cracked copy then shame on you, this means you are one of the people that make software more expensive for the rest of us and I can offer no solution, unless you are good at decoding and reading binary, then you can decrypt the key for yourself.

for someone to give you a product key would be like me handing you £199,as what you are paying for when you buy windows xp is the product key,the actual disk costs around 4p to make, but the key is worth around £200
i found out a long time ago that windows xp copies only makes legitimate copies cost even more,if there were no copies, then a legal copy could be bought for around £30,half of what xp home can be bought for
you may be able to get a copied xp from a independent computer shop, just explain what you want it for,say you want a operating system for gaming, not for internet usage, and he or she may give you a old copy
good luck

Lol.....keys like that are unique and can only be used once, making them cost hundreds of dollars. If you want one, you have to buy one.

It's not like the good old days when a key could be used an unlimited number of times as long as it was a valid key. It just doesn't work that way anymore.

Let me get this straight. You want someone to perform an illegal act and your reward to them is 10 points on Yahoo! Answer. Wow, that's very generous of you. My suggestion, stop sniffing magic markers and instant glue. If you want a copy of Windows XP Pro then do what any sane person would do...buy one.

Sorry, the key is not the same on every CD of the O/S.
If you have it you can check the packing to find the key.

get a life, nick. However I'd be willing to help you load Linux as a free alternative that recognizes MS file types and tell you where to get sound and video drivers.
