I would say both selections suit very well as color schemes. I would personally select the first as the vanilla creme lightens the color scheme as a whole, then the metallics can be used for accents. The second scheme strikes me as very dark, but maybe you can apply some chocolate accents to the first scheme as well.

Go for Gold, copper and vanilla creme. This combinations works better when the other two colours are not light colours. vanilla creme stands out

#1 sounds pretty. It would actually tone down the gold and copper tones a bit so they don't seem so "bright" and is also kind of refreshing. #2 would bring those colors out and make the room appear "richer".

I think they sound beautiful together. I would be careful of the copper though, make sure it is a muted copper and not overly bright.
